I'm thinking the last sentence is,
"bear, hope you can make sense of this"
from the top, looks like
"had the heart surgery June 6 and came home after doing good. home health came around every couple days, the couple thoroughly checked on me. Then June 20 they found blood was too thin, so off to the emergency room. they tried to insert a stint, cant find a vein \. so tight, (the torque tighter?). as the rest of the back nerves in my right arm. The nurses don't know if it will get better. It took almost an hour to write this letter.
that's the best I can do, hope someone can fill in the blanks.
Bear, just take your time, rest a lot, and stick with it. You've made it so far, and you'll keep coming back.
prayers going your way, be well and think positively. follow all the rules, buddy, and we'll be with you.
Ron

Rest up, do your therapy like you're told, don't rush the recovery.
BTDT, and I know what you're going thru. Prayers on the way and get back to us when you feel up to it.

Ron Just talked with BEAR, and Ron's translation was pretty good..... The tourniquet was too tight and when they went to put the IV in, they may have hit a nerve. His palm and the back of his hand (right one, you might know) feel like being stabbed with a million hot needles.......On pain pills for this and working with the hospital to get it squared away.... Being a woodworker, this would be worse than the heart surgery.... Said to thank you guys for your prayers.. Reminded me of the BIG reunion being planned for next year- see the MA-1 / Selfridge reunion post- it is open to F-106 people from every job........The Old Sarge

Note from Signe, Mrs Bear. Vern did real well with his heart valve replacement surgery June 6th. The doctor put him on warfin which caused his blood to get too thin so to the emergency room we went. They gave him vitamin k and tried to get an i.v. in after several trieds they finally got one in. The tension on the tourniquet was too tight and damaged all of his nerves on the right arm. He is going to therapy for that and heart recovery also. He has been to a specialist twice for the arm . They run some kind of electrodes and decided a couple of the nerves are getting better but the one on ehr back of the arm isn't. He has been in the shop making chests and rocking chairs . Is in a lot of pain with the arm, but still keeps going. I so often wish I had his energy. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers Signe

Guys here is a reply from Signe Bruhn on Bear's condition. He was having a lot of trouble typing because of the nerve damage she describes.
Pat P.
Signe wrote on 9-18-2012: He is doing well. Still having problems with right arm. Tourniquet at hospital was too tight and messed up nerves in it. They aren't sure if it will ever get back to normal. He ls been having a lot of pain from it. Has been working in his wood shop and doing some fishing. Having some real tasty meals. Planning on a trip to Mich this week-end for a few days. My family all live there. Thanks for keeping in touch. God bless, Signe
Pat's note: Having experience with nerve damage I know that if they recover it takes about one month per inch of nerve from the point of damage to the end of the nerve trunk. I had a nerve pinch at the elbow that took a number of months to recover finger tip sensitivity. It finally got back to 90% recovery but no more than that. Surgery fixed the pinch and the pain went away in a couple of days but recovery of sensitivity took much longer.
Hang in there Bear.

That's it Bear!! Keep fighting!!! Anyone who takes an hour to write a bunch of degenerates like us is a WINNER!!!
I at least know how the nerve problems go. My surgeon told me it (in my case - ulnar nerve entrapment) never really goes away. I had my transposition surgery in May, 2011, and still have the problem though the symptoms are much improved.
