(Getting a little deep in here. How about some F-106 stuff?) Saw this one on eBay a few days ago. Bring back any memories for anyone?

Does anyone know is this a legit Six patch? If so I want to add it to the patch page.

I remember seeing it in "Wings of Fame, Volume 12" (the F-106 issue), but my copy is long destroyed. I just ordered another copy, and this time will take care of it! As I recall it was worn by crews pulling alert at Homestead AFB, FL, but I'm not 100% on that one. I'll post a pic when I get my new copy unless anyone else has one handy. Edit: I forgot to add that from the looks of that patch -- with the burn marks on it, the holes from where it was sewn, etc. -- I would not be in the least surprised that if I held it to my nose I would smell bourbon, boobs, leather, freedom, blood, and fear (the good kind). Here is the link to the eBay auction for that patch. "4757th Air Defense Squadron"? I don't know. It sure as hell isn't in "new, unused condition." It was sold for $154.01. www.ebay.com/itm/USAF-patch-4757th-Air-Defense-Squadron-F-106-Dart-/320947787578?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D65%26meid%3D1915107303338669582%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1032%26rk%3D4%26

My assignment to Tyndall AFB from 1967-1971 was originally to the 4756 Air Defense Wing, Avionics Maintenance Squadron. the 4756th ADW was short lived, from 1962-1968. In 1968 it became the Air Defense Weapons Center (ADWC) supported by the 4756th OMS, AMS, FMS, MMS. The 4757th Air Defense Squardon was our Det 1 unit at Homestead AFB as well as the Instructors in Inteceptor Weapons School (attached). Over the years it was manned by different Interceptor aircraft including F-101,F-102, F-104 and sixes. I believe it became Det 1, 48th FIS at that time. The USAF Interceptor Weapons School was also part of the 4756ADW and was the original Dog Fight School. CMSgt Paul Aiery was NCOIC of the Weapons school. He was only CMSAF to return to active duty after tour in DC was over. He returned to Tyndall and retired from there. I knew him from when he returned to Tyndall.

I don't know why I forgot this in WOF, but I honestly didn't remember it. I haven't looked at that book for years.
So, this was the patch specifically of which unit?

Pat P. posted this according to the book, "Southern Air Defense Detachment (SADD) employing ADWC aircraft and pilots attached to the Interceptor Weapons School. In 1976, the duty passed to the Florida ANG in Jacksonville, FL."They flew out of Tyndall AFB obviously.

I posted about my time at Tyndall. Tyndall was the 4756th Air Defense Wing until 1968 when it became the Air Defense Weapons Center (ADWC)
The 4757th Air Defense Squardon was our Det 1 unit at Homestead AFB. That is the Fighter Sq Patch we have been discussing... Not at Tyndall, Deployed from Tyndall.
