: :happybday : On this day in 1934 Donald Duck made his first appearance in the Disney cartoon; The Wise Little Hen. Having been born in the same year, The Old Sarge and I have the extra blessing of sharing our birth year with Donald. I also have the "blessing" of the same disposition as Donald Duck. I think The Old Sarge also has some of it. Does anyone know Donald's middle name? I do. Jim Too :god_bless_usa

p.s. i heard the same ???about his name on a game show and missed the answer... Donald Fauntleroy Duck is an American cartoon character from The Walt Disney Company. Donald is a white anthropomorphic duck with a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. He usually wears a sailor shirt, cap, and a red bow tie, but no trousers (except when he goes swimming). Donald's most famous personality trait is his easily provoked and explosive temper. Donald Duck has been officially honored as the third most popular cartoon character of all time with Bugs Bunny of Warner Bros. Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies at number two and fellow Disney creation Mickey Mouse who is number one.[citation needed] According to the Disney canon, particularly in the 1942 short Donald Gets Drafted Donald's birthday is officially recognized as June 9, 1934,[2] the day his debut film, The Wise Little Hen, was released. However, in The Three Caballeros (1944), his birthday is given as simply "Friday the 13th", which is in reference to the bad luck he experiences in almost all his cartoon appearances. Donald's Happy Birthday (short) gives his birthday as March 13. The 1942 short "Donald Gets Drafted" also reveals his full name to be Donald Fauntleroy Duck.[3] Donald Duck is a well-known and very popular character especially in Scandinavian countries.[citation needed] Donald's voice, one of the most identifiable voices in all of animation, was performed by voice actor Clarence "Ducky" Nash up to his death in 1985. It was largely this semi-intelligible speech that would cement Donald's image into audiences' minds and help fuel both Donald's and Nash's rise to stardom.[citation needed] In 1969, Disney On Parade which toured all over the United States and Canada, hired Ellard Davis as the live voice of Donald Duck. Mr. Davis did the voice for 3 years. Since 1985, Donald has been voiced by Tony Anselmo, who was trained by Nash for the role.[citation needed] Donald is a V.I.P. member of the Mickey Mouse Club.

Good for you, Gene.
You got it right, although it looks like you needed a bit of help from Google.
I always go with the 9 June date. Mainly because of it being the day he first appeared on screen.
I enjoy looking at Disney history books, and seeing how the different characters have changed over the years. Some, like Donald, are quite dramatic changes.
Our two year old grandson looks at the Mickey Mouse in our living room, points at it and says, Mouse.
His dad worked at Disneyland as a Jungle Cruise skipper, and that is where our daughter met him. Needless to say, their home has all sorts of Disney memorabilia.
My first trip to Disneyland was in February 1956, my oldest daughter was 14 months old when we went.
I have been a Disney fan for as long as I can remember, and remember the cartoons made during WW2. The ones with Donald are the most memorable.
I have the special release set of DVDs of all the WW2 cartoons from Disney. He really was a great supporter of our military and the war effort.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Oswald you made it in time, my birthday was yesterday... I think... On Tuesday my 77 year old mother called me apologizing because she thought my birthday was Sunday. I mean she was there when I was born, so who's right?
