President Reagan probably knew more theology than any president in the 20th Century.
However, it was not the knowing of theology that mattered with him, it was the doing.
It behooves each of us, and every American, to follow his example, spend time in prayer and in the 'Word of God.
We, all of us, use a lot of rhetoric concerning our current "president", and it is probably justified.
However, we need to also pray for him and the rest of our national "leadership", that they would quit following the enemy of men's souls, Satan, and turn their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ.
First Timothy 2, verses one and two say:
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. (New American Standard Bible)
Those verses have not been repealed.
So, now it is up to each of us to obey them.
I will be the first to admit I don't do it as often as I need.
