Hi, The first squadron to recieve aircraft was the 539th FIS at McGuire. The first aircraft were delivered to Edwards AFB for pilot checkout in May 1959. This unit deactivated in fall 1967. Chek out Erv Smalley's convairf106deltadart web page for more info.

The 318th had 106's until 1983 or 84 when they brought in the 15's I don't know if those were the last or not though

I don't know the 1st or which was the last. But I do know which was the best. Their patch sits just left of this text.

I attended the last squadron to fly the "SIX". It was last flown with the New Jersy ANG. Sorry don't remember the year, but I rode out there in a KC-135 tanker for the ceremony. Very impressive weekend with a fly-by and a reading of all pilots who lost their lives flying the "SIX"

The 49th was the last active duty unit, and was deactivate in 88. Not sure what the last Guard unit was and when they either deactivated or moved to a newer aircraft.
