OMG I'm so thin and young (actually not, just have that babyface that my wife gives me hell for )! We were A-10, F-117 and F-111 Aircraft Battle Damage Repair (ABDR) teams of the 652nd CLSS (previously 2951st) out of McClellan AFB, CA during Desert Storm, but a couple of us had prior F-16 experience so the battle damaged Falcons stopped at our FOL for repairs. These are off my A-10 Warthog Aircraft Battle Damage Repair website if you haven't over there yet After repairs, motor going back in. Yup, nose gear up landing after being hit in the ass by an SA-3 Left side of intake.

Good pic's thanks. Whats important is the jet and pilot made it back safe. Being a jet engine technician I'm surprised the jet engine didn't FOD out with the intake damage. Maybe its just external damage.

Maybe its just external damage. Only a little made it through to the inside of the intake damaging only in one small area right near the strut. This isn't much of a picture, but you can see the repair I did on it, which was about the size of your hand. Being a crew chief is a great job because you get your hands on many maintenance tasks, but one great thing about working ABDR is you do EVERYTHING. Each team still has their specialists of structural repair, engines, electricians, avionics etc, but each does it all. That was a great 5 year assignment.

I'll try and post a few pic's in here but mine seem to all come out small like your last one. Don't know why.
