Ron, there certainly is a lot of OUR money going to China to build things.
However, not all of it has been done by Soetoro.
The Oakland section of the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge has been under construction for more years than Soetoro has been in the Federal City.
Seems our State Department, Commerce Department, and all the other departments, have been doing all they can to keep Communist China in our nation, building and running things.
In the ports of America, all over, most of the large cranes used to load and unload Container Ships was built in China.
We were living in the North State when the large cranes were brought in to San Francisco Bay, to be installed at the Port of Oakland.
It was quite a project.
They made it under the Golden Gate Bridge with lots of room to spare.
Then they had to wait for an unusually low tide, then floated under the highest span on the San Francisco side, with only a couple feet to spare.
This is just one example.
Then look at all the electronic, clothing, shoes, housewares, cameras, guns and other goods, that are made in Communist China, and try to figure out how much of our money we send to them.
I drive past railroad trains, or sit and wait at crossings, and note how many containers are from Communist Chinese companies.
I think ABC did well to point out the construction projects going to Communist China, but wonder if they have reported on all the other things they are building, selling and running.
The Panama Canal is now run by a Chinese "company", controlled by the Communist Chinese government.
I think you get the idea.
It has been going on for a long time, and probably won't stop, even if we were to, somehow, pay off our debt to Peking.

I can comment on the containers and the COFC and TOFC containers riding on the trains. Most trailers are built in the country where they are primarily originated. US steamship companies use containers built in the US. Unfortunately there are not many US Flag steamship companies any more. They've been either forced out of business by the costs to maintain US Flag status, or been bought out by foreign companies. SeaTrain, GONE BELLY UP, SeaLand BOUGHT OUT BY MAERSK, US LINES, bought out by SeaLand before they went belly up. Many of those Chinese Ship Lines have been bought out by the Chinese.
But we started to cave in to the Chinese many years ago, but not in most of the stuff brought out by this clip. This relates to CURRENT stuff. The stuff in that clip is CURRENT, and we all know the Chinese basically OWN US ANYWAY.
They'll cripple us financially, sooner or later, unless we find a way to not let them b eat us to death.
There used to be a thing called PREFERENCE, whether it be for Veteran's, contracts, American Made, etc. The idiots in DC spend too much money, then try to cut expenses by going overseas for stuff. STOP GIVING AWAY OUR JOBS, and maybe we'll make some headway.
We lose a job, the employee goes on unemployment, or welfare, or some kind of assistance. So they take our money, give it to the chinese, who own more dollars, and we have less money to spend on legitimate needs.
I'll blame Soetoro as much as anyone else, and I'm sure his predecessors spent some with Chinois too, but he's taken it OVER THE TOP while trying to tell us he's doing so good for the country. How many more billions is he gonna print and sell to the Chinese before we conced that he's the master of deceit at sending jobs overseas?

A definition of balance of trade en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balance_of_tradeA do-it-yourself analysis of China - US balance of trade for the past 28 years www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c5700.htmlTop ten countries with which the US has a trade deficit www.census.gov/foreign-trade/top/dst/current/deficit.htmlMAJOR FOREIGN HOLDERS OF TREASURY SECURITIES www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/mfh.txtFactors that can affect the balance of trade include:1- The cost of production (land, labor, capital, taxes, incentives, etc.) in the exporting economy vis-à-vis those in the importing economy; 2- The cost and availability of raw materials, intermediate goods and other inputs; 3- Exchange rate movements; 4- Multilateral, bilateral and unilateral taxes or restrictions on trade; 5- Non-tariff barriers such as environmental, health or safety standards; 6- The availability of adequate foreign exchange with which to pay for imports; and 7- Prices of goods manufactured at home (influenced by the responsiveness of supply) Item 1 above is what has driven US industry to China. 70% of our economy is driven by consumer spending - we want it cheap - we want it now - and we want it on credit - and our politicians have delivered that on a silver platter. Now our kids have to pay for it. Shame on us for not paying attention. BHO is going to China tomorrow. I'm sure he'll fix all that. :rofl
