The combination 87th FIS, 62nd FIS, and 56th CAMRON reunion will be the 12th of July, 2008. The 62nd FIS and the 56th CAMRON were deactivated in 1971 and were merged into the 87th FIS at K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan. We're going to have one whiz bang of a get together.
Activities include the "Red Bull/Spike" Scramble Golf Outing on that Saturday morning.
A reception for the "Redoo the Voodoo"Project in Hangar Two at 11 a.m. until we are ready to head for the reunion at Post 349 of the Ameriican Legion in Little Lake.
Friday night will be an unofficial gathering at the American Legion for all who would like to get together to tip one or two.
The cost looks like it will be $20.00 per head but if that changes I will post it.

It has been amazing the calls we have gotton for this reunion. The 62nd as far back as the late 50's and the 87th as far back as the early 50's in Sioux City, Iowa.
I think so far the old 62nd guys have out distanced the 87th guys so come on, 87th troops. Get signed up and get on the list. We don't want the 62nd to get in so early that you will be eating in the parking lot when you get around to it.
We have some of the memorabila on hand and we sure don't want anyone to miss out.
And for all you 87th guys who saw the fuselage of the 106 three years ago you HAVE TO SEE THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!!!!!

The 62nd & 87th FIS Combined Reunion is history... and here are the pictures to prove it. Pat P. Messages from Lani: On July 11th and 12th, the two former Fighter Interceptors Squadrons, the 62nd and the 87th, came together to celebrate the rollout of a F-101B "Voodoo Interceptor" that was renovated by members of both the 62nd and 87th FIS Alumni. Both the 62nd "Spike" and 87th "Red Bulls," served at K.I. Sawyer AFB in Michigan from 1959 to 1985. This was only the second time that the 62nd FIS gathered at K.I. Sawyer since the early seventies. Over one-hundred and twenty alumni, wives and friends attended this two day event. For more information on reunion "leftovers" or information on those attending, please contact Lani Duquette at at nolan359 at charter dot net Click picture to see slide show. Album Two pictures of the 62nd/87th FIS Joint Reunion held on July 11th and 12th, 2008, have been provided by Ed Holkup from Crystal Falls, MI. Ed was an electrician for the 62nd and 87th FIS. I am strictly a "Six" kinda guy, but that Voodoo is a pretty bird. Kudos to those who lovingly refurbished her. Great job!!

I can remember being slightly embarrassed when I'd watch a Voodoo outdrag a Six on takeoff. As they say, however, the Six had "other attributes" that were unseen to the unwashed who were left on the ground.
Y'all did a helluva job on this Voodoo. Did a helluva job on my old Minot jet that you converted into one of my old Duluth jets, too!
