After leaving the F106 program back in 73 my memory is a bit rusty!!! I believe the 905 unit is either the contoller for the SCRG system (has a knob that rotates a mylar strip in a window) If I'm correct we were forever glueing the strip back together. Used Eastmans' 910 glue as I recall. Either that or the AFCS flight control selector. Can't remember the stock numbers anymore!!!

I think the 905 box was the MA-1 power switch box. Early in the program we referred to it as the wolrd switch. Nearly everything on the aircraft was controlled by this switch.

And how many knew it was possible to run a perfect FDT tape with the MA-1 system in "warm" position? Sometimes the human wins out over the computer. Only ran tapes in "warm" position on Friday eves so we could go to Madawaska instead of work. That brings up another question, how many of y'all know where Madawaska is???

Got you beat norm!! I could and did run a IR tape using the FDT and the wall plug! Didn't even turn on the MA-1 system! Showed that to the local FDT expert and he almost crapped! Couldn't believe it either! If you had the system in Warm, then a power tape was more likely! As I recall, the system had to be in standby to get the computer and radar tapes to function. Its been awhile!!! MArv
