Boyu, what a change in the scenery the other side of the runway!!!!!!!!! When I was there, the only thing there was the General's white house- (and the back gate for a quick trip to the dam to catch a few trout on chow break) he was the ROAMA commander, who I met at least 3 times after what he felt were excessive Deuce max A/B runs after 9 at night.... His comment everytime he climbed up the ladder, Sargeant Gier, you sure make it hard for me to get my beauty rest.. Once when I was there with the TF, he crawled into the other seat and said OK, show me what these trim runs are like. I handed him the checklist and said this is what has to be done. On the last burner bust I said OK general you make it go bang. You should have seen the smile on his face..... He rode back with me when I taxied back to the maint hangar and thanked me for the experience... I asked the FCF pilot if the general had ever been offered a ride- he hadn't.. About 3 days later, I taxied back and parked next to the TF, he and my CO were getting ready for flight. He motioned me over and said "I understand you are responsible for this ride" , "Not me General"... After that if the runs were getting a bit long, the porch light on that house the other side of the runway would blink a couple of times, but no more personal visits. I later found out that his wife had sleeping problems, which we weren't helping........ Sure enjoyed my little over 3 years there before heading for Loring........

Nice story. Stories are always nice from our members. I'll have to tell one of my Griffiss stories soon in detail. Running a B-52G before a cromedome mission. Number 5 engine caught fire and in the excitment the dude riding brakes must have hit the guard switch on the radio between our seats when he got up and ran. I transmitted that we were on fire and had nuke weapons onboard. This went out all over the Northeast at 2330 hrs. crap hit the fan over that and almost triggered a Broken Arrow.

Great video. I had no idea there were so many F106 videos out there on youtube. It really took a long ways back...
