Don't give away your 1/48th Monogram F-106 plastic model. They are as good as gold. I know it has been re-issued again by Revell-Monogram but its made in Red China. I bought one of their 1/48th F-15Cs. What a piece of crap. I'll never buy another of their models again. Monogram was the best model company around until they got bought out by Revell. Wish I knew of a source for Monogram models in the 1/48th scale.

I have to say the Revell 106 model is pretty darn good. That F-15 model was a "dog" I got so ticked off I tossed it. Oh well my patience again.

The 106 is good, but the fuselage is a real pain. As for other Revell models, the Huey Hog was definitely a "dog". In the junk heap now. Does anyone know how Revell's F-15E fairs out?

I had heard nothing but great things about Revell's F-15E, so I went out and bought the ProModeler one. It's true, they're awesome. The only complaint I have is that the burner cans are a pain in the you-know-what. If you get the ProModeler version, that comes with an option of TigerMeet decals, and a whole crapload of weapons, but you pay for it. If you get the regular version, I don't believe (don't quote me on this, since I haven't seen it), you get any weapons, and the marking options may be a bit different.

I used a few of the tails on the Monogram F-15 when we were working out the final design and positions of the 5th FIS Eagle markings. I must have gone through at least four or five models before we got everything settled.

I've got a started kit at my Mom's house. I never finished it, and she hasn't thrown it away yet. I'm not certain that it's complete anymore, but I never can remember to grab it when I'm there...

Hi. This may be off topic, or even blasphemous to some, but perhaps some kind soul could direct me to what I'm looking for.
I was stationed at Oxnard AFB, CA 1963-66, 437th ADC FIS, as a jet engine mechanic on their F-101B Voodoos. I understand the 437th actually converted to the F-106 in 1968, but for only a total of two months, making them the shortest lived F-106 squadron.
Today, I'm now looking for color photos of the 437th's F-101B Voodoo aircraft to correctly finish a Revell-Monogram 1/48 model. Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
BTW, I never worked on the 106, but I thought it was one butt kicking intercepter. The only thing it lacked was a gun (sameo for the 101B), which I think they experimentally fitted to at least one aircraft.

They actally modded the fleet to accept the same gun the Warthog uses.

I had a heart attack about a year ago this month and haven't worked on my 106 model since than. I am fully recovered, but I need to ask a big favor. I am having trouble with that damn front landing gear again. A kind soul, I think it was you Sarge that sent me a great picture of how it fits. I like a dummy never printed it. I promise to print it this time. The instruction sheet doesn't help much. Good to be back in touch again. :green-beer

believe that the F-89 is really an F-94c Starfire with wing mounted 2.75 FF rocket pods................ The HU-16 is actually an SA-16, because there was one on each side of our C-124 from the "point of no return" into Prestwick Scotland from Iceland in 1955........ It became the HU-16 in 1962............ So we OLDTIMERS still call it an SA-16 Jim
