How about this ?? > Subject: T-bowimg > > Pam's Story > > In a recent email, I read about a woman named Pam, who knows the pain of considering abortion. More than 24 years ago, she and her husband Bob were serving as missionaries to the Philippines and praying for a fifth child. Pam contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by a parasite found in contaminated food or drink. She went into a coma and was treated with strong antibiotics before they discovered she was pregnant. > > Doctors urged her to abort the baby for her own safety and told her that the medicines had caused irreversible damage to her baby. She refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted. Pam said the doctors didn't think of it as a life, they thought of it as a mass of fetal tissue. > > While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but refused to consider abortion. She recalled making a pledge to God with her husband: If you will give us a son, we'll name him Timothy and we'll make him a preacher. > Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy August 14, 1987. Pam's youngest son is indeed a preacher. He preaches in prisons, makes hospital visits, and serves with his father's ministry in the Philippines. He also plays football. Pam's son is Tim Tebow. The University of Florida's star quarterback became the first sophomore in history to win college football's highest award, the Heisman Trophy. His current role as quarterback of the Denver Broncos has provided an incredible platform for Christian witness. As a result, he is being called The Mile-High Messiah. > > > Tim's notoriety and the family's inspiring story have given Pam numerous opportunities to speak on behalf of womens centers across the country. Pam Tebow believes that every little baby you save matters. > > > He's being mocked and ridiculed but he keeps bending that knee!!!

The Pam Tebow/Tim Tebow story is true. Some of the versions on the Net have some confused time-lines, but the facts are true. The doctors wanted her to abort her baby. She and her husband said no. Tim Tebow is the result of that decision. I don't think anyone could say he was effected by her illness. Pam was recently in New Braunfels, speaking at the Options for Women banquet. One of the young ladies from our church spoke to her, and was given a copy of this article. She read it in church this past Sunday, Right to Life Sunday. It is an amazing story of God's Grace and how He will bring Victory in the face of Defeat for those who are faithful to Him. www.btea.org/aboutus.aspJim Too :god_bless_usa

Tim is a great man; one that inspires me and has shown me that not all our youth are doomed to be arrogant, tattooed, loud mouths. He realizes that football is just a game and that his biggest calling is from a source greater than the NFL. It's so easy to turn a blind eye to these pompous "stars" on the football field or any other arena and write it off as the foolishness of youth. As they will find out, "Every knee shall bow".

Pretty busy little "office" back there for those guys. I actually worked with a fellow FE that started his career as a B-52 gunner. When the guns went away, he became an FE. This is the BUFF at KI Sawyer's museum. I took this when the kids, and I went out there for the Six dedication ceremony.

I was friends with another old AF guy at the Senior NCO Academy in 1984. He was a tail gunner on BUFF. During Linebacker II his aircraft was hit with a couple SAMS. He got credit for shooting down one. When the second SAM hit aircraft they lost all power and intercomm. As pilot was struggling to regain control, and after repeated tries to contact crew he ejected. When Gunner ejected it took entire tail cone with it. So after he left aircraft, the pilot was able to regain control and flew to Tan Son Nhut Air Base and the crew bailed out over friendly territory. He was in ocean for several hours before rescued. Rescue crews told him he was safe, but other crews were in enemy territory and he could wait. So he was picked up later that night and taken to DaNang AB and was able to talk to crew and his family from there. He said he had never paid that much attention to Bail out procedures, but after pod jettisones, gunner has to crawl out and manually deploy his chute. But he got Silver Star for his actions.

My friend was on G's and H's, so he never had to deal with riding in the back of the bus (so to speak!) www.gunners.net/_fpclass/gunnery/buffguns.htmHe got to see a "dot" on his screen, and shoot at it that way. Ahh, technology!

Would you go to combat with this man?
Phil “Hands” Handley
Colonel, USAF (Ret.)
Many years ago as a flight commander in an F-4 squadron, I was required to write an OER (Officer Effectiveness Report) on each of the pilots and WSOs (weapon systems officers) in my charge. This onerous task was flawed from the outset since it was assumed that the rater would render a totally honest assessment of an individual officer’s unique skills and capabilities as compared to a baseline his peers. Of course, this did not happen, as the slightest negative comment would almost always assure an undeserved denial of promotion … hence the infamous OER inflation creep emerged … where almost everyone was awarded “walk on water” evaluations.
Consequently, continuing PME (professional military education), endorsements from higher headquarters, the officer’s official picture, error free and perfectly typed and punctuated paperwork, assurance that every available space for comments was used, additional duties, and a dozen other irreverent factors that had little or nothing to do with the officer’s primary job as a fighter pilot or WSO.
All of this flawed process was exacerbated by the fact that this occurred during the “pre-computer era”, thus denying the rater with data banks of “flowery remarks”, synonyms, spell checkers, and printers. It was during this period that a Marine F-4 exchange pilot was assigned to my flight. After about six months, I got a letter from HQ Marine Corps requesting that I prepare an OER for this pilot.
The OER form was enclosed, with instructions that it was to be prepared by me, in my handwriting and returned as a single copy. There were several blocks to be checked, followed by a space for remarks that was only adequate for two to three short sentences … then, above my signature block was a question with two choices: “Would you go to combat with this officer?” Check either “yes or no.”
Talk about cutting through the crap! I was impressed at the time and to this day have never forgotten its bottom line simplicity and brilliance. Try applying that test to the current crop of “leaders” who are in charge of America’s destiny.
For starters:
President Barrack Obama
Vice-President Joe Biden
The President’s Cabinet
The President’s Czars
Attorney General Eric Holder
A majority of our elected congress
The Main Stream Media
Al Gore and his Climate Change BS
Senator John (two silver stars) Kerry
Others too numerous to mention
Maybe it’s just me, but I damn well would not willingly go to combat with any of them. How in hell did we let this happen before our very eyes … on our watch? We as a nation had better get a grip, turn out in mass for the 2012 national election and throw these self-serving jerks out of power before it is too late. I fear that four more years of political correctness, blatant socialist/Marxist policies, lack of backbone and disregard for our constitution will do irreparable damage. If we are to remain the greatest nation the world has ever seen, which was built on the loyalty, integrity and sacrifice of generations of patriots whose gym bag our current leadership couldn’t carry … We best get it done.
I have been there and done that too... AJ

There was a published story about inflated OERs. The story quoted some of the remarks. The one I remember is: "Borders on the brilliant, bears watching"

Can you believe it? ? Slightly more then 24 hours without a single post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I dropped by a couple of times yesterday and the place was deserted. Church attendance was down yesterday, I guess driven by a 3-day weekend. I took my PC outside yesterday and blew the dust out of it with an air hose. Then I spent the rest of the day trying to figure out why it wouldn't boot. Finally got that fixed and my Canon printer broke down (damn computers). Found the fix on the Internet in the Tech Forums. Turns out that most inkjet printer manufacturers put shutdown codes in their EPROMS so you have to take it to get service at a cost that is just a few bucks below replacing it with a new one. After a certain number of prints and cartridge changes that go into "Take me to the shop mode". Ah, planned obsolescence programed in at the factory. Well some smart techies figured out the sequence of two button codes that reset the EPROMS - problem solved. Today I'm doing prep for a colonoscopy tomorrow. That's always fun. May be better than Obama Care where they just mail you a garden hose, flashlight and a roll of duct tape. Pat P.

Pat, your problem with the Planned To Quit Printer Program is one that I suppose is normal.
There are other ways to get you to either visit a repair shop, or buy a new printer.
Some older printers, no matter how hard you try, are not compatible to newer operating systems.
So, you chuck the printer and buy one that will work on your new computer.
Fortunately, I think, all the more recent printers can have new drivers downloaded to work with new computers.
My old HP Photosmart C3150, close to ancient, hooked up to my new Windows 8 Laptop automatically.
The main problem with printers is the ink.
Most printers are sold at or close to cost, and below cost on sale.
The printer companies could just give them away, and sometimes do, and still make lots of money from them.
They make money on ink.
I either buy ink when Costco has a coupon, or get the cartridges refilled at Costco for about 8 Bucks.
At least Costco carries the extra capacity HP carts, so they do last quite a bit longer than the regular size.

Jim Too,
Have you had any problem with those Costco refilled cartridges? I got a set for my HP printer and now the color rendition is out of whack.

Jim Too, Have you had any problem with those Costco refilled cartridges? I got a set for my HP printer and now the color rendition is out of whack. Tom Tom, the only carts I have had refilled at Costco are black ones for my printer.
For my wife's printer, a new Photosmart 7515, I have only used new HP carts.
She prints a lot of pictures, so don't know if the refilled carts would be a good idea.
New ones, when using the coupon, are not overly costly.
My printer is mostly used for printing documents.
I intend to refill the color cart on my old printer, as Costco no longer carries them.
Will probably be a while, as they are over half-full.

Again. You have to watch those ink cartridges. They are all different between manufacturers and models. Also the color output after a cartridge change can vary even though you replace it with a new cartridge from the same manufacturer or fill your own, or buy store refilled carts locally. The model Canon i960 I have (vintage 2005) has ink tanks with no print heads built into them. Instead it has a master print head that sits just below the 6 cartridges. The reason I bought it was because it had great color picture printing and the tanks could be easily refilled without having to reset them or the counters in the printers control board. I bought refill kits at Sam's Club for $29 or $39 and must have refilled cartridge sets of 6 over 70-80 times, saving many hundreds of dollars compared to using Canon carts at about $70-$80 per set of 6. Finally my print head got gooed up and I had to change it at $70. Ink can vary in color between batches and I always run a test print to make sure the coverage and colors are correct. Sometimes they need tweaking a little. The holes in print heads are measured in microns and the inks have to have specs that fall in the range of the print heads customers are using. Color, particle size, drying time, viscosity, all have to be in a tight range for best results. My printer usage declined sharply over 3 years and I started using store filled tanks rather than refilling myself. When my local cart guy went out of business, I just started buying Canon carts again. I may try some Costco refilled carts to see how they do. Like Pastor Jim pointed out, they pretty much give the printers away to get you hooked on the cartridges. The old Gillette razor and blades business model. After all, at retail prices for the ink they sell, it works out to about $4000 a gallon and costs them about $20 a gallon. Same with the phone companies, "Here's this free phone, now go use it and we'll charge you by the cost of your data downloads, uploads for the next two years of your contract". Thanks, Pat P.

Thanks for the feed back. I've tried a number of things to fix the problem. I've the printer for many years so I guess it's time to break down and get a new one.
