Hi Folks
I visited the big museum at Atwater in 2008.
There's a cockpit/ fwd fuse from either an F-102 or -106 in the compound to the North of the main area.
I have a pic or two but I'll need to re-size before posting as they're too large.
Q 1. Has anyone else noticed it- and is it an F-102 or a -106?
Q 2. Does anyone know where it came from or which aircraft it is?
I tried e-mailing the museum, but no reply.
Greetings from Scotland!
Simon

Looked at the pics again. It's a F-102 for sure.
The wings for it were there too- and still show on GE, but the rest seems to have moved on.
I can e-mail the 3 photos to anyone whose interested.

The Old Sarge Here are some pictures of the TF-102 at CAM taken in May 2009. Click on the picture and advance the 13 frames to the right. Ralph is in the red shirt with the blue vest. This TF came from an airport in the Bay area or Sacremento where it was used for firefighter training. It's in pretty rough shape and will take about two years to restore. Pat P. :us_flag

Thanks Gentlemen.
So CAM now has a TF-102 under restoration. That'll be 56-2364 which was first noted here in September 2000?
The one I noted in 2008 may have been brought here just for its wings then? To be used on -2364?
I'm hoping to find out the identity of the (doner?) Deuce- and it can't be this one as it was a single seater.
I'll see if I can e-mail the pics to Chief O' the Darts!

Pat, thanks for the photos of the TF.
I was crew chief on one at The Goose during our transition time to the Dagger from the Scorpion.
It was my Six Primary Trainer. Many of the systems were similar, although upgraded on the Six.
The canopy on the TF was a "killer" if you were not careful. Had to put both canopy jacks in place before you did any work on the bird.
The canopy was very heavy, and could "eject" a single jack, and send it flying.
Nice to see Ralph and Company are putting the TF they have back together.

Hi Simon and greetings to all of my Friends, It has been a long road , but I am hanging in there and doing okay. Simon, the fuselage is that of an F-102A, Tail number 56-1306. It was at the 323rd FIS; LA ANG; MASDC in Dec 1970, and then to the hills behind NMIMT. Searching for aircraft parts at NMIMT was quite as experience, as was the trip to White Sands and looking for parts after they drug the remains in from the desert. If anymore information is wanted, just ask, as I found out how to log in after a long dry spell. Ralph

Chief Again, thanks for responding to my modest enquiry. Nice to see that you have a lot of friends here and that they're pleased to hear from you. I'm glad your cage got rattled! We could all do with an occasional rattle.
