Hi I started to draw some plans for an RC electric ducted fan F-106. Now i search some ideas for the finish, i really like the Red Baron ( www.f-106deltadart.com/misc/redbaron.jpg ). Are there some more Pictures of this painting? Greetings from Switzerland Rainer Hi Rainer & Welcome, The only pictures of 56-0459 that I have found are located here convairf106deltadart.homestead.com/560459Page.htmlon Erv Smalley's web site. The picture in red dayglo paint is the same you provided which came from Wings of Fame volume 12. The aircraft was assigned 02 Jan 58- 04 Mar 60 to Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB CA (ARDC). Bailment to Convair for engineering/test support. It was not unusual to see many aircraft with red markings at the AFFTC for improved visibility during test flights. This aircraft is currently located as a display at the McChord Air Museum. I tried to go to their web site four times today to see if they had any more pictures in red paint but I received a virus warning each time. You might email Ernie White, the webmaster at McChord Museum, and see if he has any different pictures of 459 in red paint. He's at sixfixer@yahoo.com I have also looked through all my F-106 books and found no other red pictures. Good Luck on your project. Keep us posted on progress. Thanks, Pat Perry 456th FIS 66-68

Tanks for the infos. I searched the McChord Air Museum page, but didn't find any picture in red paint, just gray ones. At the moment i'm building the Revell F-106 to get an idea about some details from the plane. It will take a very long time to build the remote controlled F-106, i'm not a fast builder. It took more than a year to get my last project (Jak-15 in 1:5 scale) airborn.
