:teacher It is always very humbling and gratifying to know that what we all do here in these forums at times reunites old friends.
Well, 'joetjr' and 'sandsvegas', a couple of old Mock UP team mates and roommates seem to have done just that after a lot of years.
After being the liaison between them through email it was confirmed they indeed know each other and did want to share email so I have since got them connected through email.
Good stuff :2thumbsup makes you feel good just like it does for everyone else on here who have gone through this reunion process.

Good stuff makes you feel good just like it does for everyone else on here who have gone through this reunion process. Pat your site has enabled much more than you can imagine. I ran into Bruce G. 456th FIS Crew Chief on this forum back in 2000. We worked together and tracked down over 340 members of the squadron and have conducted 8 reunions over the past 11 years. Talk about tears of joy when these folks saw their friends from 40-50 years ago! And look at all the F-106s that have been saved from the scrap heap because of efforts to save them that began on your Forum. Look at all the pictures that you have collected and war stories told that would have been forever hidden had you not started this gathering place for Sixers and fans. Look at all the member skills that have come to light here with guys like Jim Gier, Bear Bruhn, Gary the Bullhunter and the list goes on. My friend, when you first created this website I'll bet you never dreamed that you created a home for us to come visit every day. Here's to you Pat :green-beer Pat P.

I havent been here for very much of that activity at all, but it still gives me a place to go a few times each day. Memories IS good, they keep you alive and thinking.
I wish I could find more of the guys I was with in the 539th, had some good friends there, I fear that some arent with us anymore. l've got a 50th High School reunion coming up next year, I know about a lot of the ones that wont be there, but I know the ones that are around, and I also know that many wont show up. We were prime military draft age, I enlisted and know a lot more who did, but there were too many of the "fringe" folks that I really didnt know too well that I'll notice by their absence.
I hate this crap, thinking about the ones who arent here anymore, I just wish I could find the ones who are.

Ron, Have you been to the Alumni Registry page? www.f-106deltadart.com/alumni_pages.htmClick the Alumni by FIS tab and select 539th FIS Alumni. There are 108 names there. Some of the names are very unique making them easier to find than "Bill Smith" on www.zabasearch.com . If you or any one of the 539th members kept copies of their old orders they are great for tracking people down. This is how we found 350 folks from the 456th FIS after we developed an list from orders of over 850 names. Most were delighted that we found them but there were a few who did not want to be found. Each contact led to at least a few more names that people had kept in touch with over the years. Since 2001, I have exchanged over 14,000 emails with folks from the 456th and others we have met through Pat's Forum. So far we have lost 66 of them who passed away. Many of their surviving spouses wrote to tell us how much joy we had brought their husbands before their passing by reuniting them with their military friends. Here's a book that may help Amazon BooksIt takes a lot of computer and phone work but once it gets started the networking feeds back leads on people you would have never found by yourself. Good hunting, Pat p.

I've checked the list several times. Life would be so easy if it listed the years they were there. I've gone through and found a few whose names I remember. One of them was even my roomie, tried messaging him here, no luck. I'll keep going through the list and check the resources you mentioned.

Another thing your site has done Pat, is allow us to find new friends with a common background. Thanks for that opportunity!

Pat, I agree with Lindel.
Had it not been for this site, I would not have met him and several others.
I count it an honor to call our members friends, those I have met, and those I'm waiting to meet.
It also brings back lots of memories, some bad, but mostly good, from "The Good Old Days", when we wore the Blue Suit.
It has also helped me in my writing, being able to put down some of the information gleaned from our members.
As Bob Hope sang: "Thanks for the memories".

I will check but I think one of the Six Crew may have been in the 539th; he's about 10yrs my senior and also a weapons guy. Out of privacy and courtesy I'll send you a PM with his name
