Hey everyone. I've got a question. How many forum members here besides the MOW, and me are Operation Desert Storm vets? It doesn't matter what service you were in. I was Army, the MOW was Air Force. (You get the drift!) How about a photo, or a story you have from that little adventure we shared? Here's my photo. I honestly don't remember the exact date it was taken, but I do know we were in Iraq. Must have been either the 24th, or 25th of February 1991. I'll post some of my stories later. Geez! I used to be that skinny?!

I am a Desert storm vet, plus some no fly zone deployments, now to get the pics posted.

I had retired prior to Desert Storm, but supported it from Wright-Patt. Seems they loaded Hot Item equipment on top floor of KC-10 and found out they didn't have k-loaders at bare base fields. So Air Force built in-house at 4950 Test Wing (WPAFB) a self contained unloader. I led a team to do Tech Manuals and support for it as well as training classes for loadmasters. It looked like erector set packed as last two pallots on plane. They used built in pulley system to wench it down and built up beside plane. It could then be wheeled around to off-load other KC-10 cargo.

I was in the Air Guard during Desert Storm (part of it at least), but our equipment was outdated enough that the Regular Air Force wasn't interested in it.

Small world. He was the 511th TFS commander out of RAF Alconbury, one of the last A-10 units to be sent to Saudi in late December of 1990. Pretty sure they flew out of King Fahd.
