To all of you guys that travel our country, try to take the time to find a sixer in the vicinity of where you are going thru and make an effort to make contact him, have lunch or even spend a night with him if he extends the invite... For you guys stationed in WA., there are enough of you that you could hold your own SIX reunion-perhaps in memory of Steve.... In addition to the 456th reunion guys that I met at Colorado Springs, I have met over 20 sixers over the past 5 years... Some even tolerated me for over night.. (a couple of them - 2 different times) BTW, our house is always open for you to stop by, go eat, or spend the night and eat as well...... Also please go back to your profile in fill in the Location section so that we can use that as a planning guide.... You guys in WA, I believe there are 5 or six of you- go down to McChord and see Ernie's Six and have a little get together- time is running out for all of us..... The Old Sarge While it doesn't happen often, it does happen when a Sixer finds his way my way. A few years back Marv and I hung out. In the near future I expect to see Ray Tritt over here, a new member here but an old 87th comrade of mine. So it does happen, and if anyone ever does have the opportunity to travel anywhere within the Asia-Pacific region let me know, because you just never know.

Don't forget about the Texas Squadron. We've got 57-2533 down at the Kelly Annex, and a few in El Paso collecting dust. Jim Too, and Pat P. have the big cities covered, and if you get bored with those guys drop by Abilene for some REALLY boring stories about KC-135s and Herks! Then you can buy a new Hyundai, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep or something in the used department from me!!

I have photographed 0086's armament bay through the bay door vents and it is complete. 590086 is also a gun capable bird (VSI). She has the gun position on the arm sel switch and gun system cb's in the RH wheel well. She also has the second skin on a set of standard bay doors. This includes all launchers+rails, the MB-1 ejector rack complete with an 87 FIS baggage box, all valving and high pressure lines and actuators. The IRST is also complete with all lines and selector valve in NWW. Any guesses out there what Rick & I may be planning for the future? Stay tuned.

Let me guess, hooking her up to external pneumatics and periodically cycling the doors and launchers for display? Could be a really cool audio-visual presentation, kinda like what the Museum of Flight up here did inside the salvaged cockpit of SR-71 #978.

Is that an AIM-4D on the launcher? Didn't know the 6 carried the -4D. Looks like a GAR-4. Think GAR-4A/AIM-4G but without the wingroot extensions.

I added photos on the main site in the folder "static display survivors" , 590086 www.f-106deltadart.com/photo_galleryWe don't have the bay doors open yet, but I tried to show how complete it is (including the 87FIS baggage container in the rack). I took fresh pictures today; through the vents in the aft end of the doors.

I can see a nice piece of walnut with a 3/8" drive speed handle attached to it and a clock face and a dog tag with the recipients name and maybe a F-106 Challenge coin embedded. Let's hear some more ideas and if the Old Sarge likes one he might make a prototype.
