This is from a retired AF pilot, who is in contact with a number of our members. It is from 1960, so you will see some things that you don't see to-day. Jim too :god_bless_usa ----------------------------- Sound on while you watch this demo team in action . . . I just received this video and I saw them in action once back in the late 50's.... I believe they were flying the old "Brutus nose" Herc's with a radome, in those days. They didn't last long as a demo team, but this is a great video for the C-130 crowd. Hercules and the Four Horsemen: Filmed in 1960 - The Four Horsemen were the world's only four engine per aircraft demonstration team. Flying four C-130As in close formation, the team would perform a number of maneuvers over a twenty-three minute air show that closed with a bomb burst -- or as the team called it, Horseman Burst. The show was performed at an altitude of 500 to 1,000 feet. How about a trip back in time! The link below will take you to a 1960 video of the USAF's C-130 four plane demo team. As you can see, they were a group of four, 3-bladed C-130A's doing flight demos. A little dated but interesting on how they did tight formations. Their group name sounds strange - they should'a called themselves = = = = = = = The Thunder Trash Haulers www.patricksaviation.com/videos/cpasley/5046/

I spent a large portion of my career working C-130 Aircraft. First I started out running the C-130 Flight Simulator Branch at MCCHord AFB. Then I moved on to WPAFB as Test Director for C-130 Simulator acquisitions. I worked there for 4 years. A couple years later I started working C-130 Technical Data as Program Manager with a large team at Warner Robbins AFB. I also set up several computer networks for the SPO there. I also lead a team to consolidate Tech Data for C-130 Fleet by establishing a Configuration Management Program for fleet. It was said at the time that no two C-130's were alike. The C-130 has been around almost as long as the B-52 and had had more variants and models. Even within models like AC-130 there have been at least 4 major versions. I look back on my career and see the C-130 in more good memories than most others.
I remember hears crews from C-130 quoting their motto..."No load too large, no load too small...we haul it all. C-130 trash haulers" Lorin

Great aircraft! I spent two years working on them in Okinawa, Vietnam and Thailand. Like a Timex watch, "They take a licking and keep on ticking".
