Hey, that's pretty good work! Love the intake covers, and glad we were able to help when you asked about that! So cool!!
Are you okay with some critiques of that 119th FIS (New Jersey) model? I hope so. Okay guys, I have to be brutally honest here. (I know, I know, but...)
First, BLUE for the AIM-4s on the New Jersey bird? Where did that come from? The blue portion should be RED. Next, the exhaust on the New Jersey bird sticks WAY to far aft, and the state name on the tail is to small. (Some times ya gotta deal with what you have I guess - decal wise - that is.)
Now, that said, the Massachusetts aircraft is pretty much spot on! VERY nice! You did a good job. I am especially impressed with the exhaust cover. Nice touch! That is how they are supposed to look like!!!
Mark
P.S. Isn't the interior nose wheel well supposed to be green too? Just noticed that.

I agree with Mark, although I wanted my first post to really give you the warm fuzzy that you did a great job on the 101st! It looks great. It should be your pride and joy of the 2 builds.
Now, the 119th, yea a few oddities such as the engine exhaust, blue Aim-4's and such give it 2nd place in the rating scale of the 2, but still a very nice job. It is obvious the improvement old to new.
Let me know if emailing me the photo's is ok with you. I would love to showcase this on the site.

Hello everybody, I checked that model subpage and I must say I'm touched by the opportunity to be a part of it. I sent pics ASAP, but will leave the "master of web" to pick ones he thinks they suit the real Delta. Or he can post them all. :thanks As for critics, please hit me hard! New Jersey Delta has a big story behind... This was one of my first models, that my father actually glued togetger...So, it sat on the shelf for years unpainted, when I took two acrylics (one green and one dark blue) and painted in in more-or-less standard masking pattern and decaled. Years have gone when I realised that this not realistic so I stripped both paint and decals. I made a few new decals on a computer and printed them on a (rather thick) sticky transparent film. I painted F-106 once again - and one of things was that I needed to pull exhaust nozzle out to paint it in total. But, Hasegawa moulded it so that it got stuck when I was returning it back into fuselage. As for AIM-4 missiles, that one is my fault, too - I wanted them to be different from white-red so they got blue instead of red and yellow tip. This has nothing to do with the real ones, yes! Even the Massachusetts bird isn't bullet proof - basic paint isn't ADC grey, I skipped correcting wheelbays (both front and mains), nozzle is simple one from the box, I left intakes as they are (incorrect) therefore intake covers are also wrong. Misshaps with decals forced me to make even more errors - strange how no one noticed tha stencils are missing on the airbrakes... And yes, front wheelbay should be "interior green" as mains, but this information came too late for this one. I think I corrected maybe 30% of all errors made by Hasegawa on 101st FIS bird. Remember that I have another three F-106 in 1/72 and will buy one in 1/48 in the near future. So there will be plenty of opportunity to fix them. Regards, splinter

Hey Splinter,
Lesson learned on that Jersey Six obviously! I know what you mean about that Hasegawa kit. If you didn't get that exhaust in correctly the first time, you were stuck! (Well, it was stuck I guess!)
The modeling world is in desperate need for new molds for the F-106A in both 1/72 and 1/48. They would sell too! I hate reading about the "new" mold Me-109 or FW-190! ;D Even the guys on the modeling web sites say so.
Again, nice work!
Mark
