Main Gear Door someone painted that so wuold't run into it. In front of nose gear is a Angel of Attack cover with red flag covering the UHF or TACAN antenna. Bear

Mark, It looks like a storage box crew chiefs used to store all the remove before flight streamers. A complete walk around removing them the Pilot would have an arm load. Including door locks, it would be about the right size. Our CC at 539th had similar storage racks. I believe our Sheet metal shop fabricated them.

I knew it wasn't a conventional tool box, but it clearly was designed to hold something! (Duh!) Thanks for the info! :thanks

After I enlarged the picture to 400% and got my eyeballs looking in the right place that is a Door Lock holder. The thing I saw was the AOA cover the covered the Vane for the Gun sight system. It's only been 30 years and the cobb webs are thick,sorry about the error.
