Great pictures. Are they all from McMinnville? I didn't know there was an F-107 around. When I was at The SCAB, in about 1958 (?), we had a North American representative come to the 13th FIS and show a movie about the 107 to the air and ground crews. They were giving us lots of information, as we were on the list as a squadron to be equipped with the bird, if it was put in service. He spent quite a bit of time explaining the egress system. Look at the intake and you can see why. It wasn't. Pity! It has some typical North American lines and system approaches. It has a beauty all its own. Jim Too

First, welcome to the forums! Nice collection of photos. I'm kind of a museum kook myself. I see a bunch of those are from Pima. I also see they got the B-36 put back together. Very nice! Of course the F-106 looks no different than when I was there in 2003. I remember posting about it here, and a few guys even made some donations to Pima for the F-106 specifically. I also recall asking the museum about the rust on the lower wings, and the guy told me, "That's not rust. It's oxidation." Huh? Oh well, you do the best ya can! Here she is back in 2003...

Having worked on Balls Three, it is good to see her looking good.
I don't recall "oxidation" being a normal color when she was a Minot.
Maybe it is something they do because of the dampness of the Arizona desert.
Last time I saw her, she had a rail down the middle of the canopy.

Sometimes we have a bit of fun at the ol' museum. I had just helped the A-4 get their stuck wingtank off of the pylon. They were hauling it over to a pad to prep it for a repaint. The crew climbed aboard to keep the tank from falling out of the truck; and as they rolled by I just had to take this shot. Attachments:
