This "B" looks very nice the way it is mounted. I still think we were very fortunate to get a set of gear because it looks a lot more natural.

Guess I should tell everyone what the heck I'm doing at Lackland/Kelly. I started my Flight Engineer training! The first part is called Enlisted Aviator Undergraduate Course. It's a "weed-out" course really to make sure folks can continue on to their specific course. It's actually pretty boring for me academically but it's pretty important for the new kids who just came out of basic. The nice thing is I get to help them out. That's fun being able to help the new kids!
Anyway, I leave here the end of the month then I'm off to Altus for Basic Flight Engineer course. I already have an assignment as well. I'm going to be a C-130H FE stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX. No, I won't become a Dallas Cowboy fan either. (Damn Colts!!)

CONGRATULATIONS, MARK....... YOUR CAREER AMAZES ME.....NO THAT IS NOT TRUE, YOU AMAZE ME, WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE LATE START YOU GOT IN THE AF IS INDICATIVE OF WHAT TIME, PATIENCE AND PERSERVERANCE CAN DO.........AND OF WHAT LIES AHEAD OF YOU........Feels good mentoring those young kids, doesn't it? ??Do so every chance you get, you may not always see the end result of that mentoring, but it will always be worth the additional effort you put forth...............Once again, Mark, my congratulations.. and a tip o'me foine fatique cap to ye The Old Sarge

While you are at Kelly, you should contact Marv Donnelly. He lives nearby & works at Kelly. We had dinner with Marv & his wife a little over year ago. He also gives a nice tour of San Antonio. He is listed as member on this website.
