New picture. The plane came from an Air Force mold that was originally used for static display models. One is shown on one of the sites web pages Glenn Attachments:

Nice work! My dad was into RC years ago, but never did any jets. He still has an unbuilt T-28 from the 70's but every time I ask him for it he refuses. Says he will build it someday! Yea, right!

Guys I hope to fly it in the next week or two. I will take a video. Also if it flies well I hope to put a video camera {fly cam one 3} in place of the pilots figure and we should have some video from inside a 106. I have been flying for about 40 years so I should be able to handle it. Here are a couple of other pics. Glenn Attachments:

Most of the time the assistant c/c was lucky to get his name on the plane

DCC = Dedicated Crew Chief. It's been in use every since I've been in, but rarely used more than just a name on a white board in the bosses office. In AMC we weren't even allowed to put our names on the outside of the plane. (KC-135 in my case, but I saw it on C-130s too.) I was the DCC of one KC-135T before I became a flight engineer. The thing is, when you showed up to work for your shift you worked on whatever plane needed work. The whole program really didn't mean anything. Even when it showed up on your EPR, it was just filler like everything else. Of course, that's active duty AMC. During my time in the ANG it actually meant something. Oh well. Here's a shot of my plane. Believe it or not it was the Wing CC's official plane. Just like everything else, that was only on paper. Just an excuse to paint some art, and a name on one of the planes. I had the pitot covers custom made at a local sew shop -- paid for out of my own pocket -- because I really thought being a DCC meant something! Not many people even noticed. (P.S. KC-135T's were originally built as KC-135Q's to refuel SR-71s. When they re-engined them, they were designated "T" because they actually had two different fuel systems still. Remember the SR-71 used JP-7, and the KC-135Q used JP-4.)
