if people arent responding, let it die. no response usually means they dont care!! I refer you to the fact there have been 320 views and 39 responses to this thread, ahem. If you`re not interested in this thread can I suggest you save us your opinion and go find something else to do? Not the Typhoon/Eurofighter Bull.

We all have something else to do. To me, at least, that means we have preferences.

In the interests of keeping the quiz going..... Tinwolf, keep posting the spot the aircraft pictures. It helps keep my mind off the political BS taking place in Washington DC. Hmmmm... rectangular intakes, two major hard points on each wing. Must be a Tornado. If that is correct, what is this? Hint: powered by steam and in 2009 was headed for Edwards AFB to set a new land speed record. No, it is not a British F-15. Hint too: Google British Jet Fighters and select the images tab Attachments:

Sorry it`s not a Tornado for a lot of reasons Yours is the snappily named British Steam Car, so named because it`s a car that uses steam as it`s power source and it was made in Britain. It broke the speed record for a steam powered vehicle which was 127.659 MPH set in 1906. The speed achieved was 148.166 MPH at Edwards AFB in 2009. So that record didn`t last long eh?

Correct on the steam car! Not a Tornado? How about a SAAB Gripen? Pat P.

Intake openings are too tall for the Tornado. Neat plane btw, very capable terrain following and avoidance.

Looks like an F-104 but real blurry image.
Second one is Germany's marking. Possibly F-86F?

If you miss that one try this one. Also ID the country that owns it. Italian-made, Fiat G.91. Maybe an R/3 version, but I'm not sure on that. I imagine West Germany "owns" this one. Mark

Nice going Mark. It is a Fiat G.91. Photo taken at a German Air Base called Flensberg Air Base. Its only a few miles south of the Denmark Border. I was there 2 weeks Deployed with four aircraft. Big multi-national NATO exercise. BTW our Con/Nav troop saved the FAC part of the whole damn exercise, and when he departed PCS back to the states I wrote him a MSM. The Germans were using several of those G.91's to tow targets. I never knew what they were until now. I put that pic up so I could learn what they were myself. :thanks Now figure out what the first aircraft is. Not so easy when its 1 1/2 miles out.

In the same spirit of Gary's photo, here is one that also includes a difficult to spot aircraft. I will not be giving hints, so y'all have to trust me that there IS AN AIRCRAFT in this photo. Good luck! Mark

she's obviously carrying large ferry tanks. is that a new foreburner she's wearing, the one with the variable input? nice radome, and she was obviously in the desert, she's got camel parts near the intake
