The Old Sarge has done it again... clockwise... In support of the Tyler Historical Aviation Memorial Museum Century Series Project, Jim Gier made this beautiful clock to be raffled during the Wings Over Tyler Air Show on July 3, 2011. All proceeds will go to the THAMM F-106 acquisition project. Jim presented this clock on behalf of all the members of the F-106 Forum. To give you an idea of the size of the clock, the F-106 picture is 12x17 inches. The picture is a "Com'in Atcha" view of the actual F-106 on display at Castle Air Museum taken by Sam Brandt. Tom Mitchell, who received the clock on behalf of the museum, sends his thanks to Jim and all the guys on the F-106 Forum who have helped with the F-101 move. They are ready to go get the F-102 from the Army base in Little Rock, AR and have spoken with the USAF Museum about getting a F-106. If the Minot Air museum passes on the last F-106 at AMARC, it will revert to THAMM who was offered it years ago and had to pass at the time. Tom says with the help from this clock raffle, they are ready to go get the Six at AMARC and bring it to Tyler. All they need is the "GO" from the USAF Museum in Dayton. Thanks, Pat P.

Sarge,
As a fellow woodworker I'd say you've done a beautiful job on that clock - best yet.

The Wings Over Tyler Air Show starts tomorrow and Tom Mitchell will be selling raffle tickets for $2.00 each for the Jim Gier clock above with all proceeds going to the F-106 Fund. They are expecting a crowd of 25,000 and the weather forecast calls for 100+ degree heat which is pretty normal for this time of year. He said to tell you that F-106 Forum members are eligible for the raffle too and if you are interested you can email him at tommitchell@suddenlink.net and he'll send you the US Mail address for purchasing tickets. Tickets will be on sale at the Air Show tomorrow but the drawing will take place at the Museum's Annual Hangar Dance on October 22, 2011. They will also be selling tickets at the Museum until October. Have a Happy 4th! Pat P. :us_flag
