I thought I'd post this in an open forum so everyone can see it. I regularly use my military discount at Home Depot, and Lowe's. I've been told retirees can use the same 10% discount too.
The other day I bought some lawn stuff at HD, and showed my military ID when I was checking out, and the lady told me HD no longer gave the 10% discount every day, and had changed it to holidays only. She added that if I told them that Lowe's gave the discount every day, Home Depot would honor it, but you had to tell the clerk. They will not remind you, or advertise it. The clerk that told me this was a USAF retiree herself, so she helped me out, and I got the discount, but every clerk may not be as helpful.
Please check your local Home Depot for the discount if you shop there! I do every time!!

They can't give me a big enough discount to get me in there... I drive about 90 miles to a Lowes for my lumber..... Call me biggoted if you want.............
Home Depot shows its 'darker side' of gay pride support
Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." - I Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)
October 13, 2011
Dear jim,
Last weekend, Home Depot set up a booth at the Atlanta Gay Pride festival and entered a float in the parade. (video here)
Alongside Home Depot's float were marchers and other floats celebrating sadomasochism and bondage. For example, one group of marchers had large dog collars strapped around their necks and were being led by leather-clad "owners" holding chain leashes and whips.
Gays acting like caged animals on public displayIn the photo at right is a float depicting gay sex slaves being held in cages like animals. This particular float was just one of many showing the bizarre activities in the parade with which Home Depot connected itself.
Keep in mind, these abnormal behaviors were literally celebrated on public streets in Atlanta. Home Depot was proud enough to be right in the middle of it.
Over one-half million people have signed the pledge to boycott Home Depot until it agrees to remain neutral in the culture war.
To help promote the boycott, AFA has produced the AFA Pass Along Sheet. Please print copies of this sheet and share them with your neighbors, friends and co-workers. Encourage them to join the boycott of The Home Depot.
