She has been in theropy (PT) for about two weeks. All is going well except her big toe will not bend down with the others.
I told the doctor this is a big problem as I have always been able to curl her toes until his surgery. He barely cracked a smile. No since of humor these doctors.
She has her good days and not so good ones. Still has good pain meds and takes them when needs to.
Time well tell.
Thanks for asking. Hope all is going well for you and your family. :thanks

we'll be moving to AZ mid August, but now we need to bring my mother out. She's begun to lose some memory, after having a hip replaced, we're trying to find a place near our new home where she can get the proper care and attention.
never gets easier, does it?

Yes, seems to be always something. We must keep in mind that no matter how bad we have it someone always has it worse.

We got some crappy news today. I don't know all the medical details but it seems scar tissue and maybe calicum has developed on and around Belinda's new ankle. Doctor has got to go back in and remove it. Its going to be another surgery. After that no walking for at least a week. Going to have this done right after new years. Happy New Year Damn, sorry to hear that. Please give her our best and we pray for a speedy recovery.

Thanks guys. We have decided to do it right after New Years. Taking his first surgery date after Jan 2nd. We had plans to catch a space-A hop from McChord to Dover to see our daughter's family but I suggested we get this done very soon. Doctor said we could wait, but he also said that the material is pushing against the bone where it crack and in time could fracture it. If that happened it would be major surger likely requiring screws to hold the bone inplace. So, with that information it will get done right after New Years and not waiting until Feb/Mar. If our daughter's family leave for Turkey before we get a chance to see them again then thats the breaks. I think this is the wise choice. :thanks again

absolutely right, it's tough not to see the family around this time of year, but priorities is priorities, to quote some cartoon character, or was it Harry Reid.
good luck, again, and hope it all works out just the way it's supposed to.

Took the WA State Ferry Boat to seattle yesterday for wife's surgery. Belinda is back home. We took the F-150 pick-up with 4x4 drive but didn't need it. Had we taken the car likely would have hit a blizzard and I don't mean Dairy Queen's Blizzard. The Surgeon cut open Belinda's ankle again and shaved off some extra bone that had grown pushing on the new ankle. The left side he also cleaned and shaved bone but also found a bone chip that was likely causing the pain and swelling on the left side of the ankle. He also tightened up both her tendons. Surgeon was pleased that he was able to find something that was likely to be causing a problem. Belinda will be off her ankle/foot for 3 weeks or more. Currently in a case and after that a walking boot. I purchased a nice lap top for us @ Christmas so starting tomorrow Belinda will have it next to her and can get online and do what ever she wants. Facebook, skype, next vacation planning, etc...... Later. Thanks for all the prayers. :thanks Attachments:

That is good news, Gary.
Will be praying for her ankle to heal with no problems, and that she doesn't have too much discomfort.

Mystery solved! I guess those guys on TV that chase "'Squache's" need to find a new creature to chase after up in the great Pacific Northwest! (How did you get her out to make all those tracks? If I got to get all comfortable like that under a blanket I wouldn't leave the house!!)

Almost had to make some wheelchair tracks this morning out in the snow storm.
I got this feeling that something just was not quite right in the house. One of those times when you think the Lord or an angel is alerting you.
I got up from the computer and walked around but had the feeling that trouble was at hand. Belinda was sound asleep and resting well. So it wasn't anything to do with her at the moment.
The only appliance running was the clothes dryer. But the operation sounds were all sounding good. So I decided to stop the dryer and look inside. I found 3 fabric softener sheets stuck to the exhaust vent preventing the hot air from escaping. Glad the dryer was on low (We always use low or medium). The dryer has an over-temp safety fuse that trips if the temperature exceeds 290 degrees. I'd rather that not happen.
I guess I know now why the dryer, dry times were getting longer.
So check your dryer if you use these dryer sheets!

better still, make sure you clean out the filter too, every few days. It's amazing how much dust will get on those filters, ALONG WITH the dryer sheets.
By the way, dont you DARE tickle her toes. As soon as she's able to move her leg comfortably, she'll be jamming her squache foot right in your pooper.
Prayers still coming.
Ron
