I was in the Senior NCO Academy at Gunter in Jan-Mar 1984. We were the 10 Year Ann'y Class and wanted to do something for future AF NCO's. The Academy had just received an AC-47 gunship for Static Display outside the Academy HQ. Our class donated a set of guns for the Gunship. They were donated by AF Museam, but we had to pay for deactivation, refurbishment and delivery. Our best reward for this was having John Levitow as our special guest for a couple days prior to our Graduation. It was an honor to meet with him a few times during his visit. We also had all surviving CMSgt of AF as guests as well. The Gunship is still at Gunter and I have visited there many times while TDY to base. It is still an awesome memory.
