Nah, I am older then dirt, and I've got him beat by a mile. I was in the first MA-1 class at Lowery AFB after the first Interceptor Improvement Program that added the Silent Lobing radar, the hydraulically tuned magnetron anti jamming and Infrared tracking to the system in 62. Stationed at McCord AFB from 63-66, keeping the 318th and 498th birds turning and burning.
But, glad to have another MA-1 Weenie among these wrench benders, bubble chasers and rocket cocker's.

Some of the oldest MA-1 troops were at Selfridge, they attended the 1st class at Huges in CA in 58 and 59 when we had spin lens AAI Ant , TACAN and UHF ant at top of the tail, !8 computer boxes, 4 TACAN ,3 UHF 7 Stable table , 2 Generators plus 6 or 8 power boxes, 2 different instruments system (round&vert). Some us were luckey and spent 20 years working on that #@$#@%system and got a few years of teaching it.

Jim, You might have ran in to my father...Wally Tennyson. He was a jet engine mechanic there at the same time. Also, did you know Al Jubb? He was my father's friend and long time family friend until he passed away from leukemia.
