Makes you wonder how much it would take to make them serviceable again, if it's even possible. :fire_missle_ani

From what I've been told, the Buffs and those fighters you saw are supposedly have been pickled for return to flight status when necessary... I can't identify the fighters, but suppose that they could be sold to other countries, like HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS' Friend Saudia Arabia............... The Old Sarge

actually if you go to Google Earth...and find amarc.....you will see that most of the buffs were cut up per the SALT2 agreements....some C5a's have shown up as well as all the retired C141's, KC10's and KC135's....some fighters like f16's, f15a-c's have been pickled but are due for destruction after all the servicable parts are removed.... some A10's are there...as well as a ton of F14C-D' s from the navy... Early F18's are starting to show up also....it's really sad to see them all sitting in the desert being picked apart like buzzards....and then destroyed...they should be returned to museum status ....heck...think of how many F106's could have been saved instead of shooting them down or cutting them up....

Steve You are right, it is an old site....... The "I WANT IT AND I WANT IT ALL ,AND I WANT IT NOW" kids of today are direct descendants of the group that was in charge when it was decided that "they" would get newer and better A/C to fly if the SIX disappeared and these kids' kids may have to sit in a trailer and watch their new and better A/C fly on a monitor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh joy... To those of you that have never had the thrill of flying alone and in control, you have my sympathy........... But I wander off the topic.................. Marana also has thousands aof mothballed airliners as well.......................... Jim

...as well as a ton of F14C-D' s from the navy...Steve Where did you see the F-14's? They chopped the Tomcats up some time ago. The US government didn't want any chance of the parts going to the Iranians when we decided to get rid of the F-14. the only ones left are in museums, and well de-militarized. Mark

I went to Google Earth and looked at current photos. It reminds me of whenever my mom sends me photos of C-130s, usually just out of the blue. She sort of knows I fly them, but has to remind herself every now and then! : Mark
