just watched the latest aircraft show on interceptors on the military channel.. it began with the prop jobs and ended with the F 22... no mention in between was the ultimate interceptor mentioned... no photo no sound bite... what is up here?? i went to the greatest aircraft link and they had everything from a p 51 to the sr...but no F 106... what can we as forum do to get the bird on the tube?? there is definitely enough documentation and a/c history on this website to fill an hour show...

I saw it, it was not very accurate about the rest of the stuff either. tempests & typhoons were never interceptors. one of the poorer aviation shows. DaveR :

I wrote to the Military Channel this evening about the Six, and asked why they don't have a show about it.
:fire_missle_ani
I'll let you know if I get a response.
You may notice that the Military Channel, I preferred it when it was still Wings, has a lot of British programmes. I suppose the Brits are more interested in military history than our networks, and film makers.
One program on Military Channel is Great Airplanes. It is good, produced here, but deals mostly with planes that are available for flying.
The shows on historic planes deal mostly with the European birds, with the exception of WW2 American birds.
Why they classify the Typhoon and Tempest as interceptors is beyond me. Even the Brits list them as Fighter Bombers.
If you were not aware.
The commenter on planes with the real curly hair, is no longer a "man", but underwent a "Sex Change" and is now a "woman".
Just thought you would like to know.

I was watching the History channel Friday night about the UFO's and there was some video on it that picture the SiX and a lot of it was simulated computer graphics of the SIX chasing a UFO out of Edwards AFB. Did anyone else see that?

Yep, saw it. One of the rare times a six is shown. Only those of us that around the six would instantly recognize it. Sure wish they would do a feature on the six.

Below is the response I received from the Military Channel.
As you can see, it is a "Boiler Plate" response. Looks like something a congressman would send.
In other words, the Military Channel isn't really interested in what viewers think.
Maybe we need to have everyone on this forum write a letter about the Six to them. If they get lots of letters, maybe, just maybe, they might be more responsive.

That sounds like someone who does not use "economy of words". If it was me, I would have replaced the above bold face text with the word, "but", which we all know means, "I don't give a damn what you or I just said." I gotta give you a big thumbs up for trying though! (Edit - Of course an exalt too!) Mark
