Hey guys,
Just thought I'd drop a quick note to let you know I'm back home. We spent 23 & 1/4 hours sitting around before the plane left, and almost as long on the plane, but we made it home last night. I'm just getting over the jet lag.
BTW, that was my last official deployment. My retirement package has been approved for 1 September 2011. Man, it's nice to be home.

Good for you, Mark. Glad to have you back home. Those long hours sitting around waiting are killer. I haven't posted much to you but I have followed your posts. For a guy who didn't work on them, you sure love the 106. I only worked on them for 16 months and they made a lasting impact on me. I loved them, too. It killed me to read that my first airplane that I spent time on, 59-0002, was shot down over the gulf as a drone. Then I found that my first assigned aircraft, 57-2545, a B model, was removed from service due to a wing crack I think it was. Someone from El Paso bought it to use for parts in the restoration of another one. The fusealge of 545 is sitting out behind a barn or something like that. The indignities of reaching old age. I hope they don't throw me out behind a barn when they're done with me. Time for you to relax and congratulations on your up-coming retirement. Thank you for your service. Mike

Goodo, Mark.
Now that you are home, and not going to be deployed, maybe we can meet up with you and your "commander".
Maybe someplace between you and us.
