I have an acquaintance that is seeking information about a crash between two WWII Aircraft in Nebraska. Evidently the pilots were training and one flew into the other. Aircraft involved were P-47's. The two pilots crashed while doing instrument training SW of Ainsworth, Nebraska. 1st Lt John Beatty was the observer and 2nd Lt Earnest Fanslau was under the hood. Lt Fanslau made an unexpected turn into Lt Beatty. The crash was Feb 5, 1944. Both pilots were in P-47's. I have spoken with 3 of the pilots that knew Lt Beatty and Lt Fanslau and have identified family members for Lt Fanslau. The individual has "tons" of information, but don't know what else you want to refresh memories. For all you "Old Geezers" out there that knew of such an incident or have information, please let me know and I will forward. The town of Ainsworth is having a reunion of sorts in a month or so and they are dedicating a formal momument at the site. Let me know and I'll get more information to you!
