Ran into trouble yesterday. Water pump shaft failed and left us stranded in the mountains of Idaho. No cell service area. A Forest Service worker stopped after awhile and offered to help. He said there was a callbox 4 miles up the road and he would take me to it. The truck was parked in a bad place and after it cooled down I was able to get us up to the call box after stopping half way once to cool the motor back down. Made the call for help and it took 3 1/2 hours for the tow-truck to arrive. They had to come from 90 miles away. Dropped the truck at the Ford Missoula dealership and a Super 8 hotel was next door. Hoping they can fix it tomorrow as President Trump is in town tomorrow and all the hotel/motel rums are taken. I guess we might find out what its like to be homeless if the truck does not get fixed. Ford Service Dept told me today they would work in my job late today or tomorrow. They were very nice. Hotel received a cancellation so we have a room for tonight. Will not be homeless. Pres Trump in town tomorrow so all hotels/motels are full. I'll share a few pic's. [/ur

Hope all is better and your truck is back to good condition. I used to go TDY there. Our company, TAMSCO back then had a manufacturing facility there. The project I worked on was for them making custom electrical cables for USAF. PS Gas just dropped to $2.49 today. So maybe we will stay here for a few days. Heavy frost for last three days. Temp was 31 when I woke up today.

Just got back home. All is well. That water pump replacement cost $690 and the tow was covered by our Triple A. I'll try to get around later and post a few pictures.
$75.00 waterpump???

Lindel, are you now living in Irving, TX? Glad to have you back on the Forum! Gary, nice pics of Bison. Here in Flower Mound, TX we had about 25 head of Bison next to our neighborhood. The owner sold them off to build some homes on his land. Now all we have is about 16 Peacocks that remain on his land and ours here in the neighborhood. They sound like screaming children every day. Speaking of trips, I just got back from my 4th 2000 mile road trip this year to east TN north of Knoxville. I'm on the HOA for 370 lot owners. I can now drive the 940 mile one way trip in 16 hours straight. Early voting started today in Flower Mound. I joined about 100 people in line as soon as the polls opened and was out of there in 40 minutes. The poll officials were slamming and jamming voters through the poll. There were 38 positions on the ballot and I voted all Republican after studying all the candidates beforehand. My guesstimate is that 60% of the voters were Dems because they weren't at work at 8:30 AM. Hope you all get out and vote as this is the most important election of all time! I'm looking forward to the F-106 Reunion in Tucson. Hope to see a bunch of you there! Prayers for our Brothers and Sisters at Tyndall AFB after the Hurricane. The All Troops F-106 Reunion Committee is donating $500 to help them out. It may be two years before they get rebuilt there and a number of our active duty folks are without homes. Pat P.

All depends on how loud it was!!!!!!!! The article said the jet engine operated normal. The cowling blew off. I guess the co-pilot did not do a good walk around inspection and the last technician did not get the locks secured good enough.

Looking like another busy year for travel. In April we have the All Troops F-106 Reunion in Tucson, AZ. Hotel and airfare all booked and paid for. We always fly Alaska Airlines. Last thing is a rental car. Looking forward to this trip and meeting folks. Not long after that is our Granddaughter's high school graduation on RAF Mildenhall. We will Space-A over there for that and also travel to Ramstein, Germany and with rental car head south to the Alps, Switzerland, and Italy. I've never been, but Belinda has. In the fall we have a Reunion again at Sembach Air Base, Germany. This will be during the Bad Durkhiem Wine Festival and shortly after the its Octoberfest. Should be lots of fun. I've told Belinda that in 2020 if we travel its stateside only. I enjoy space-a on military aircraft, but want something different.
