I have no issue with the plane, or the fact that it is flyable. To me, this is much like the firearms issue we have in the country right now.
Guns kill people...really? I've never seen a gun kill anything all by itself. I've never seen a plane, of any make or kind, do anything to harm a person. It is what it is, an aircraft. Nothing more, nothing less.

I fully agree with lindel on this.

There is no denying the horrors of the period, all wars are times of horror, all times have some type of horror in them.
But, we learn, we live, we try not to repeat, we reconcile, we call old enemies friends, we drink Sapporo on BC street with the locals, we drool over Japanese women and their latest fashions and we move on.
That said, what is the problem with admiring a marvel of machinery? Do the horrors outweigh the fact that the Zero, and the ME-109, were well built marvels of machinery? For those who would object to seeing such a well oiled machine [pun intended] then I guess those are the same people who change the channel when watching Discovery's Top 10 when something they don't want to see comes on.
So, does seeing a Zero dredge up horrors for some? I am absolutely sure it does for many of folks of the time. But the machine was a tool, a fine tuned, well build tool and to have one close by to see up close and in such good and flyable condition... I surely see nothing wrong with that.
