For those former MA-1 weenies that served in the 48th FIS in the early-to-mid 70s and in the 318th in the early 80s, I am sad to report Eric's passing at 58.
Eric left the USAF for a short time in the late 70s and worked on Thuds in or around Savannah for either the GANG or USAFR. Times were tough and he got back in with minimal loss of rank and time. He was stationed at McChord for the first part of his 2nd enlistment.
From there he was stationed at Hahn working of F-16s. His next assignment was really sweet! Homestead AFB. Unfortunately, hurricane Andrew made that a miserable time and he was sent to Moody AFB where he decided his 20 was up and time to move on.
He and Jo and daughter Erica had purchased a home in Tacoma and that's where they ended up. Eric worked for Boeing after his retirement from active duty USAF.
Eric struggled with Hep-C for years, then non-Hopkins lymphoma for a couple of years before a heart attack took him June 10, 2009.
Sorry I took so long to make this notice public here among potential old friends and acquaintances. I feel like such a heel for dragging my feet for so long.
