I was at the McChord Air Museum today and noticed this MD-3 . Been a long time since I saw yellow age equipment.

Tonedown came along about 1977. Ironically the reflective tape remained in bracket form (6 inch inverted "L"s at the corners as on the yellow units.

Yep paint them flat OD so they won't reflect light from attacking A/C, but put the reflective tape on them so the the expeditor, sky cops and the FD wouldn't run into them.................................. The Old Sarge

Photo brings back some good memories. All AGE was yellow then. I was an Instructor on the MD3 and other equipment at Chanute AFB AGE Tech school from mid '61 to mid '64. Also taught its 6 cylinder Continental "Packette" engine prime mover and the MC1, -1A series motor generator sets. Would love to have those TO's back with the schematics etc.

I remember when the missile trailers were yellow...then they went to tone down.....and still put silver missile caskets on them...or in the case of white Sidewinders....well, you catch my drift........same for the MB-1 transport cart..........didn't want satellites checking to see how many missiles & rockets we had......
