The Old Sarge is building a special clock for a fallen Marine friend, 1st Lt Matthew R. Vandegrift who was killed by an IED in Basra, Iraq April 21, 2008. In talking with Matthew's father he told me about Frank Deangelis. Go here and read his story. See all the special shadow box memorials he has built for fallen members in all services (there's one for Paul Airey) and the thank you notes he received. www.frankdeangelis.com/ This is the one he built for Matthew. www.frankdeangelis.com/1st_Lieutenant_Matthew_R_Vandegrift.htmA Navy veteran of WWII, Frank was made an Honorary Marine. He has now built over 1000 shadow boxes for the fallen. Here's a video of him. www.liveleak.com/view?i=3b9_1257472275I marvel at the craftsmanship, thoughtfulness and love that guys like Jim Gier and Frank Deangelis demonstrate with each piece they build to recognize people. Thanks, Pat P. :us_flag
