WOW! :salute
That was great.
The rifles look like WW2 vintage. Maybe Manlicher or Mauser? Any of you know?
I wonder if any of our military do a formal tattoo. I know at Arlington, the Changing of the Guard is pretty formal, but not as long as the Norwegian Tattoo.
Even so, I have never been so moves as when watching the Changing of the Guard at Arlington. One of the most memorable events I have been able to see. Been there twice and just as moving the second time as it was the first.
The first time I was at Arlington to see the Changing of the Guard, was a sad day for the 5th FIS. It was the day that Lt. Col. John Fowler was buried in Arlington. Sadly, I never found out about it until we were back in Minot.
Whilst in London, we got to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace on a day the Queen was in residence and one of the more formal ceremonies. Outstanding.
We were at Edinburgh Castle on the day of the Queen's official birthday. We saw a really great mini-tattoo and the cannon salute. Very impressive.
