Great video.
If a pilot were to do that to-day, he would be in Leavenworth, or worse, for life.
Whilst at The SCAB, on an XC to Yuma, our Gooney Bird flew below he North Rim, but stayed above the South Rim.
Our pilots in the 13th liked to fly down the All American Canal above Yuma. The fishermen along the sides were none to happy about that.
The pilots would usually pop the burner on the Saber Dogs before they would head for the base. Not as noisy as a Six, but would still rattle your chain.
Things had changed so much by Nam, some idiot general outlawed Victory Rolls while I was at Ubon in 67.

The ban on victory rolls belongs to 3 FINGERED JACK RYAN, because his Big Ugly Flying F&^%$ could barely do a coordinated turn..................... The Old Sarge

I was stationed at Kingsley Field and was about to seperate from the AF in 1979, the Det CC arranged for a T-33 ride for me shortly before I got out. It was great, T Birds came in on training sorties landed, and we turned them a couple times a week. He had a local sortie arranged and we went up, the pilot was fantastic. We flew north a short distance and he dropped down to rim level at Crater Lake here in Oregon and flew inside the rim!!! Then we just went out and bored holes in the sky, it was an experence of a lifetime. I have a few pictures somewhere stashed away of the rim of Crater Lake.
