Medal of Honor recipient Lewis L. Millett, COL USA (Ret), 88, of Idyllwild, died Saturday, 14 November 2009 after a brief hospitalization at Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. COL Millett's heroic The Battle of Bayonet Hill, 7 February 1951 [Hill 180, Osan AB, Korea] is what led to the naming of our VFW Post 10216 "Hill 180 Memorial", Songtan Korea.

He made numerous visits to Osan and Korea over the years, the first back in 1998. We in the VFW Post there sponsored and paid for his whole trip and it was truly amazing.
Meeting him and being around him for several days at a time during his 2 visits back in 1998 and 1999 is what inspired me to start the website, which turned into the official posts' website. His subsequent visits were nothing short of awe inspiring.
A true hero :salute he will be missed.
