F-104's, who would have figured that. I'd sure like to see them fly.

The only time I saw F-104's flying was when I got to Sembach AB, Germany in 1978. We had some very big NATO Exercises. On a few occassions German Air Force F-104's simulated attacking the base. It was something to see and hear.

The f-104 team was going to perform with the thunder birds at moody in 07 but the weather was to bad in Florida for them to leave and come to Ga. Was looking forward to seeing them. The birds were great as usual.

My last sighting of an F-104 was at Tyndall in the mid sixties. That thing could climb!

When I first got to Luke in 81 they had F-104's on the ramp, but they were for the German Air Force. we didn't have anything to do with them, they had there own maintenance team. the only thing they used of ours was the hush house. It sure was awesome to watch them take off not to mention the sound, we could always tell when an F-104 was taking off.

USAF F-104's would stop in at Minot occasionally. I know they were ADC birds but I don't remember where they were from. They sure were pretty to look at and impressive to watch on take-off.
