:salute :patriotic-flagwaver :salute On 25 September 1918 in the air over France, Captain Eddie Rickenbacker, single-handedly, attacked a large formation of German observation and fighter planes. It is known he shot down a Fokker D.VII fighter and a Halberstadt C, observation plane. He was a member of the 94th, the Hat in the Ring Squadron. Twelve years after the end of World War One, he was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions on 25 September 1918. He ended up being the top Fighter Ace of World War One with 26 credited shoot downs of aircraft and balloons. He was given the name: Ace of Aces. Rickenbacker and Frank Luke were the only aviators to be awarded the Medal of Honor in World War One. We have a very proud heritage. Jim :god_bless_usa
