Seventy years ago to-day, World War Two officially began. On 1 September the air and ground forces of Nazi Germany invaded Poland. On 3 September Great Britain declared that a state of war existed between it and Nazi Germany. It was but a short time and the German Air Force began to bomb England. The next year the Battle of Britain took place. Nearly five years later the Allied Invasion of France took place and in 1945 Germany surrendered. Only six years, but what tremendous changes to our world took place in those years.

Jim, Excellent history lesson. :salute What is your point? Just information?
I watch a histoy channal special about maybe 6 or 7 months ago about the start of WWII. Hitler's rise to power and how he staged an attack on I believe a german radio station. Blamed it on the polish government. Then he launched his war machine.
September 11th (9/11) is about here. There has been much talk and stories about how that happened. Lots of video on youtube also with questions.

No point at all, just information. I enjoy history and like to point out important events, as I have in the past. I doubt I will have to remind anyone next Friday what happened on that date in our nation's history.

You are probably correct, Bullhunter. However, I was thinking of the politically and socially aware Patriots who are a part of this Forum. The remembrance of 9/11 has in too many places become an apology to the members of that "Religion of Peace" for causing them so much hurt that they had to kill a few thousand Americans to feel better. Political correctness run amok. Jim
