The Autumn Wings Festival at CAM is over. Ralph has sent a few more pictures of the F-15 and some F-106 decal pictures. He'll be along later to tell us how the event went this past weekend and provide some info on how folks can get some of those decals on the F-106 in case they want to put them on their fridge doors. Click Pictures to see more slides Pat P PS: Ralph and his sons have kept that F-106 paint job in mint condition. It has been sitting in the hot Valley sun for six years and still looks great! :us_flag

Just got back from the west coast. Had to go over to Castle because it was my first permanent party squadron, the 456th FIS Met Joe and now I have a face with the name of Ralph. The museum was very gracious and loaned me a golf cart so my wife and I could tour the airplanes there in style. The poor old feet would not have let me otherwise. Boy does the F15 look great.
Paid a visit to Ralph in the restoration hanger. They are working on a T-39 and he tells me a F-16 is next. Thoroughly enjoyed chewing the fat with him for awhile. Took a close look at the miniature F-15 and boy is it great. I really appreciate the welcome I received. It was really worth the detour I took to go there. Those guys really deserve a pat on the back for preserving the aircraft that are our heritage.

Here's a message from our Chief o'the Darts & Daggers, Ralph Robledo:
Pat, I thought that you might be interested in seeing this video that one of our guys put together. Ralph
10 min video on the F-15 eagle being moved to the display grounds. Video by Bruce aka "paraller".
On the "more info" wording there are two other TV interviews done by Fresno TV on the F-15.
My hat's off to the CAM Restoration guys and museum director, Joe Pruzzo. During tough economic times, they have found a way (through the media) to get the word out about getting folks out to visit the museum. This is the 51st aircraft to go on display at CAM.

Very nice video :salute and it was nice to see the "Six" in the background. Oh, and the Monterey Peninsula Country Club golf cart cracks me up. My West coast HQ is located in the DoD Center Monterey Bay, which is the old Fort Ord hospital, which I get to visit once or twice a year, the boss likes to see me once in awhile so I know Pebble Beach pretty well, and seeing that cart was pretty cool. FYI, the museum planes I worked on while I was stationed at Castle, working part time with the museum guys when not pulling 318th Det 1 alert duty, was the F-101, BT-13 and the C-123. Good times, good memories.

Cam: Of Darts, Daggers & Eagles... and Nighthawks Joe Pruzzo at Castle Air Museum has scored a F-117 Nighthawk for display. The aircraft will arrive in June 2021. That was another “Great Get” for CAM by Joe Pruzzo. The F-117 project name was Have Blue which led to its being nicknamed "the Hopeless diamond" - a pun on the "Hope diamond which is the largest Blue Diamond ever found. Pilots nicknamed it the “Wobblin Goblin” because the faceted design could only be managed by computer avionics and it was stealthy. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Have_BlueThe CAM F-117 article that appeared in the Villages Florida Newspaper:
