BEEA-U-T-E-FULL, brings tears to my eyes. Have you seen the one at Wright Patt? These are some photos I took when my family and I visited in July 2007. I would have taken more, but the museum was closing.

Great pics Mark! Can I add them to my Static Displays page?
You see the F-102 in that one shot? I built that for the museum back in.... wow I need to think... 1985 or 6 or so. That's before we had ANY buildings for the museum out at the Roy gate.

Great :thanks Mark! Did you get a shot of the 102 cockpit area? Used to have my name on one side and Maj Fortmeyers name on the other, a six pilot from the 318th.

Isn't the crew entrance ladder suppose to be yellow? All the ones I've ever seen were yellow. Everything else looks perfect.

Here's the Duece cockpit from the only side you can see. That's just the way they have it displayed. Oh, Bullhunter, you are right about the ladder. I'll have to ask them about that when I go back. BTW, did you guys notice they have the landing gear painted ADC grey? Mark

You certainly deserve another exalt for your fine work. Notice the shamrock painted on the canopy in honor of our favorite day. Pat P. :drunk

The question is did the 456th FIS use green ladders when they were around? Probably not. I still haven't got back up to Hill. My pilot and loadmaster took our van today to go snowboarding! It may be a few days before I get more pics. Here's the photo... www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/Convair-F-106A-Delta/0138767/L/Mark

I did, however, use green zinc chromate primer on them because they were alumnium and the yellow paint would stick much better. Thanks, Pat P. :idea

With the 456 FIS, 62 thru 66, our ladders were yellow and the gear was silver. :salute :patriotic-flagwaver

The ladders turned green the same time frame as the age equipment all turned green.

With the 456 FIS, 62 thru 66, our ladders were yellow and the gear was silver. That is a very cool photo! I'll be sure to ask when I get back up to Hill about the ladder and the gear. I figure if someone from the 456th dropped them a note that would help too. I mean, if you are going to display an aircraft it better be correct. Not negotiable. Of course they'll say, "Money." Well, have a bake sale or use some of those donations and get it right. People care. Here's the museum web site with contact info... www.hill.af.mil/library/museum/index.aspBTW, here's a shot of how they have the gear painted on 774. Mark

Well guys, I got back up to Hill again today and took a bunch more photos. After getting some very good advice and food for thought I decided to hold my tongue and not chat with anyone about the "errors" with 774. That's okay. So, here are a couple of my favorites from today. I have many more but my camera is really on it's last legs. (It's a Kodak MD863 point-and-shoot.) Enjoy! Oh, and Pat, you are free to use any of these as you feel like! Mark

I saw 774 a couple years ago at Hill's Focus on Defense when they had just got it for the museum. Don't remember them butchering the paint job on the gear. At least they got the IR AIM-4 on the front.
I don't think the AGE was ever green in ADC. TAC used green because of their mobility requirement.
