While browsing through the 27th FIS aircraft lineage pages I found a picture of 59-042's crash landing on 18May68, which was Armed Forces Day. The photo is on the Loring Fire Department page: loringfire.com/Aircraftcrashes2.htmlThis photo was taken through the windshield of a Loring fire truck. This photo can also be found by following the aircraft lineage page for 59-041 and expanding (clicking) the left-hand newspaper article. At the bottom of the expanded news article there is a link called "click here for source". 59-042 was repaired by SAMA and returned to service but she did not return to Loring. Bill :fire_missle_ani

Ah, 042. Sounds right as I heard it was an Armed Forces Day incident before my time. Just was not sure on the tail number.
