A message from Bobski regarding the change of the Melbourne, FL Reunion from Mar 2021 to Nov 2021:
F-106 All Troops 2021 Melbourne Florida Reunion ALERT! 1/8/2021
November 17 - 21, 2021, Melbourne, Florida
Dear F-106 Troops,
Greetings! Our F-106 Reunion Committee (Dave Stiteler and Bobski) need to get a response from everyone (ASAP) who has signed up with either us and/or the Hilton Hotel for the New November 17-21 Reunion Dates. The reason we need to hear from you is that we have received a couple phone calls and emails from people who didn't know the reunion was postponed to November! That is very disturbing because we don't anyone showing up at the Hilton in March to find out at that time!!
All you need to do to reassure us is to simply send an email or phone to:
Dave Stiteler: prep59@hotmail.com or phone: 586-226-2805
OR:
Bob Kwiecinski (Bobski): bobski9933@aol.com or phone: 734-771-9501
The rest of the info below is the same. However Pat McGee, our F-106 Website Webmaster has created a "QR" code that you can scan with your smart phone to take you directly to the 2021 reunion website and information sheet and signup form! How cool is that ! Thank you Pat!
The QR code didn't show up here but here is the link with all the Reunion info you will need: www.f-106deltadart.com/reunioncommittee.htm
Thanks, Pat P.

Jim, Great question! If you are asking if "Common Pass" Vaccine Passports will be used at the F-106 Reunion the answer is "we don't know yet".
This idea of a "vaccine passport" is just coming up and here's an excerpt from the link you sent:
"The concept of a Vaccine Passport granting citizens access to certain elements of society has suddenly become widely accepted, and the big players seem to have already chosen one they prefer. It’s called Common Pass, and in its current state it is meant to be used by airlines and other travel industry players. But the organization behind the application has unabashedly proclaimed its intent to use the pandemic to benefit the world’s largest corporations – like Mastercard, Google, and Coca-Cola – and position them as the leaders of society."
If the F-106 Reunion in Melbourne, FL requires any Covid safety protocols they will be communicated to us so we can let attendees know in advance. So far, we have heard nothing from the Hotel and venues about safety protocols. The 20+ states that recently "reopened for business" (including Florida) gave business and venue operators the final call on their safety protocols for customers. That seems to be working in most reopened states but last week Florida had a spike in new cases presumably due to Spring Break crowds in March. If the cases decline in a few weeks Florida will probably resume reopening.
My guess is that most of our Senior citizen attendees have already had vaccine shots and were given two cards with the dates they received them. You can carry the cards with you when you travel or shoot a cell phone picture of them to show if needed.
If the Common Pass is done by cell phone APP that opens a security concern as we have recently learned that iPhone (Apple) and Android (Google) cell phone APP Stores have discovered that some APPs have been getting users personal info without notifying them. These APPs have been removed from the App Stores and warnings sent to their cell customers and to the App providers who wrote them.
At a time when users do most of their computing by cell phone, security of their private data has become the biggest issue leading to identity theft, scammers, hackers, solicitors, etc. It is the cell phone users responsibility to make sure their phones APP settings protect their private data. That's easy to say but difficult for most cell phone users to do because their APPS change or are updated automatically with out benefit of information on what has changed and why. Any device used (cell phone, PC, Pad computer, Smart TV) to access the Internet is the most dangerous tool users can use that allows the "Bad Guys" an opportunity to steal their stuff.
When we grew up in the '40s-'60s the most dangerous thing we had was a vehicle without seat belts, air bags, and head restraints. Today it's the devices that allow us to use the Internet without personal privacy considerations.
Bobski will let us know about safety protocols if they are required for the Reunion venues. Thanks, Pat P.

This just posted on FaceBook Convair F-106 Delta Dart Group:
From: Dean Rager meandean47@hotmail.com 456th FIS Crew Chief
Sent: Friday, May 14, 2021 4:05 PM
Subject: Open Cockpit Day invitation at Castle Air Museum Atwater, CA
To all 456th FIS F-106 Veterans and All F-106ers from all Squadrons who live in California near Castle Air Museum:
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying life a bit better now that Covid has lightened up. It’s good to see the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’, as we continue to see positive effects of the vaccinations, so far.
One of the ways we can enjoy the healthier atmosphere would be to attend the Open Cockpit Day at Castle Air Museum this coming Memorial Day. This great event was, unfortunately, cancelled last year, thanks to Covid 19. We are grateful that we can attend again, this year.
Members from our old 456 F.I.S. Group will, again be set up at the F106 with pop ups, chairs, snacks and cold drinks. Mike Woloszyn and I will be hosting along with the ever faithful Bruce Gookin and Lou Pizzarello who travel out each year from their home states of Utah and Virginia, respectively, for this event. We are hoping to see some of you out there, especially those who live closer by in California. It’s always good to reunite with friends who we worked with or served with the 456th at other times. This invite, of course goes out to guys who flew or worked on the F106, at other bases in the U.S. and around the world. This could be a good preview gathering for the upcoming F106 reunion in Melbourne, FL this coming November.
As most of you know, it’s with a much sadness that we will no longer have B.A. Hansen striding out across the grounds wearing his orange flight suit, and carrying his helmet under his arm, ready to tell of his experiences flying the F106 and the many other aircraft he piloted during his illustrious career stretching from WW11 to Viet Nam. We lost B.A. couple months ago, just short of his 98th birthday. A decorated pilot, an amazing man! God bless you, B.A.! Personally, I thank God for becoming acquainted with this fine gentleman.
Open Cockpit day is scheduled for Monday May 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hope to see you there! No need to reply but my email is above if you have any questions. So, let’s plan to ‘gather at the F-106, ready for some good time of reminiscing, and making some new acquaintances.
Sincerely,
Dean Rager

Hey all you F-106ers. Here is an update from Bob Kwiecinski (Bobski) from his recent email to over 1000 Sixers. If you are on Bobski's email listing and didn't see it, check your "Junk Folder" to see if it landed there.
Go here www.f-106deltadart.com/reunioncommittee.htm
And look for the "Latest Reunion Update" and the "Latest Newsletter". Both are PDF files you can open and read or download. The "Sign-Up Sheet" is the same as before and if you haven't registered and selected your events to attend you need to do that soon and send in your payment for selected trips. The "Latest Newsletter" PDF file has an imbedded Link that you can click on for hotel reservations rather than the longer copy and past link you had to deal with before.
Things are looking great for Covid 19 freedom in Nov 17-21, 2021 F-106 Reunion Melbourne, Florida. Air travel is increasing and cheap tickets are available but look for prices to increase later this year.
This was just posted on the Convair F-106 Delta Dart Group FaceBook page. Thanks, Pat Perry

Thanks Pat Perry for posting. Also remember the Melbourne airport is a small airport and has only about 6 Flts in from Delta (Atlanta), and 6 from American (Charlotte). Also Elete. Datytona Beach and Orlando and Sandford are other options an hour away. We have plenty of rooms available at the Melbourne Hilton Airport.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this November! Bobski

I posted these two items on FaceBook Convair F-106 Delta Dart Group yesterday.
Item 1: Thanks to several of you on this Group we have found a problem and fixed it! Several of you posted that Bobski's NEWSLETTER had URL links that didn't work. Pat J McGee and Bob Kwiecinski figured out the problem and corrected it. It is now working properly so check it out at the link below. Bobski also reported that 59% of his Email Chimp was opened. This is pretty good but indicates that 41% of his 1000 Sixers mailing list is either unopened or they are landing in the Junk/Spam folders of recipients. If you are on Bobski's email list please be sure to check your Junk/Spam folder to retrieve your email back to your inbox. Most email providers delete your Junk/Spam folder in 30 days. Also, if you email Bobski with a question please make sure your email contains your name and not just your email address. This will make sure you get a reply faster. Thanks to all of you who have posted pictures from your archives that we have never seen before. Don't be surprised if Pat J McGee asks you to provide the original and some narrative about the picture so he can post it with credit to the picture shooter. Thanks for all you do to contribute to the history of the F-106!

Item 2:
I just found out that Pat J McGee operates a website for Retirees about Tri-Care For Life. This is important to all F-106ers and all other Military Retirees who have had problems understanding Tri-Care For Life benefits. I am only a 4 year member of the USAF but I have a lot of Retiree friends who might benefit by the work that that Retirees Pat J McGee and Bob Kwiecinski have done to help their fellow retirees navigate Tri-Care For Life. Check the link out and see if it helps you.

F-106 Forum Members, I just posted this on the Convair F-106 Delta Dart FaceBook Group: Greetings F-106 drivers, fixers, kids, and grandkids, Bobski just sent a Mail Chimp F-106 Reunion Update dated 7-17-2021. If it didn’t land in your inbox, please check your Junk/Spam folder to see if it landed there. Most email services will delete your Junk/Spam folder contents every 30 days, but you should always check it weekly to see if legit stuff needs to be moved back to your inbox. With scamming and hacking increased by 4,000% since Covid 19 began in Mar 2020, email providers have been increasing the sensitivity of your inbox filters in order to block scammers from stealing your identity and savings. If you missed Bobski’s 7-17-2021 Reunion Update here is a URL link that will get you to all the forms you need for the F-106 Reunion in Melbourne, FL on Nov 17-21. We are 114 days to the Reunion so if you haven’t had your Covid shots you still have time to get them. Find all the F-106 Reunion forms you need here: www.f-106deltadart.com/reunioncommittee.htm Pat P.

I just posted this on FaceBook Convair F-106 Delta Dart Group page:
Bob Kwiecinski (Bobski) has emailed F-106 Reunion Newsletter dated 8-15-2021 to over 1000 Sixers on his Mail Chimp email list. If you didn’t receive it, check your junk/spam folder to see if it landed there. Most email providers have tightened their security filters recently to make sure you receive less junk/spam emails because of all the increased hacker activity on the Internet trying to steal your identity and savings. This is good but some of your legitimate email may land in your junk/spam folder and you may have to retrieve it back to your inbox.
The Melbourne, FL F-106 Reunion is still on in 91 days for Nov 17-21, 2021. The link below will take your to Bobski’s latest 8-15-2021 NEWSLETTER and the other forms you will need. The NEWSLETTER explains everything you need to know and has contact information for Bobski and Dave Stiteler (reunion co-chairs).
If you have had your Covid Vaccine or a recent Covid Test, shoot a cell phone picture of them just in case some TSA agents ask for proof. Bring your masks (N-95 is best) so you can use them where required. Check your airline reservations (and car rental reservation) as some airlines and car rentals are not available due to crew/equipment shortages and weather cancellations. Yes, traveling by air is still a pain in the butt as it is ramping backup to normal capacity. Email or call Bobski if you must cancel attending so Dave can rearrange the bus loads to the venues. Bobski & Dave will be watching the Covid situation closely up to 60 days prior to the reunion and let you know if there are any changes in the schedule. Hope to see all of you there! Check your spam folders especially if you're on Gmail, Google is being very aggressive toward conservative and veteran groups of late in Maliciously Filtering them.

Posted on FaceBook Convair F-106 Delta Dart Group today. Pat P. Just received this email from Bobski who forwarded it from John Kelly regarding Jim Gier: Dave & Bob Kwiecinski Just had a call from Sandy, Jim’s wife, advising me that Jim is in a Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona, and that he now has COVID19. Apparently, Jim has been having a tough time with COPD, and he was scheduled to have a good look at his heart, I believe it was scheduled for today. But, now he has another big complication. It was a very poor connection with Sandy. Jim is 3 days younger than me, and we met thru mutual friends, and because of the F-106 All-Troops Reunions. We have become a very good email friends over the years, and we have connected several times at the reunions. Thought you should both know, John Kelly Jim Gier "The Old Sarge" has made hundreds of FREE F-106 clocks for Sixers over the years to reward individual and group achievements and support Air Museum Fund Raisers and All Troops F-106 Reunions for raffles and door prizes. Here are a few of the clocks Jim Gier "The Old Sarge" has made: www.f-106deltadart.com/piwigo/index.php?/search/4432 Let's flood him with Prayers for recovery! Pat Perry
