Here is what 043 looked like when it was newAt least it was saved, regardless of the politics involved getting 2 sixes within a few miles of each other, instead of it going to Tyler, Texas....... Even made a clock to raise funds for it.

Even though some of them [6's] were over 10 years old when I first laid eyes on them they had a beauty that always was memorable to me. Ain't nothing more pleasing to the ear than the sound of the afterburner kicking in on take-off or on the trim pad.

when i first got to mcchord, watching the burners kick in and watching them launch got me every time...

Thanks Jim for that reminder. My speakers don't quite pick-up the vibrations as much as the flight line does but the sound itself is truly very familiar.
