Back in the late 90's I was a part of a USAF effort to digitize all USAF Tech Manuals. All Depot techies were told to weed out all the obsolute AF Tech Orders under their control. Well typical Civil Servants, they failed to remove about 90% of the obsolute ones. I know, because I did QA on finished products. Saw a lot of F-106 manuals go through process. Those should be available from the Depot responsible for original repairs. Was Sacramento the MA-1 Depot? A letter to Logistics Group at WPAFB might find digital copies of whatever manual you need. I seem to remember the USAF TO Archieves was at OK City Depot.

Could be way off on this, but I think while Sacramento was the designated depot for the overall aircraft, the avionics was actually run through Warner Robins. At least I sort of remember seeing WRAMA stickers on the MA-1 boxes. For sure San Antonio was the depot for the avionics test equipment like the FDT. Another source of info might come via inquiries to the AF Museum at Wright Pat. They have a lot of volunteers that come in and take on special research assignments for no cost just to keep involved.

WRAMA (Warner-Robins) was for most electronics,OAMA (Ogden AMA) was landing gear and hydaulic components, MAMA (Middletown, PA) was for a while the depot for the canopy actuator/remover... Have forgotten most as it has been almost 50 years ago that it was my job to write/monitor the UR sytem for the 27thFIS... The Old Sarge

Hey Bear - you forgot the 11F-MA-1 Series of TO's! Those were also used for the "B" and had some extra pages just for the "B" models. I don't think the 1F-106A-2-27-6 will be available - that was the classified TO with all the wonderful stuff for the RADAR, IR, and MB-1 Armament as well as the missles!
DAve - you should go for the 1F-106A-2-27-2, -5 -1 and the -24. I would think they would be the best sources of info. The 11F-2-12 -1, -2, -3, -4 , etc. - all would be good as well.
I may be wrong on the actual To designation - the 11F MA-1 sounds right!

MArv Here's some TOs available from a commercial source. www.newportaero.com/home/manuals/technical_orders/search?to_number=&part_number=&description=F-106but that seems to be all they have for a F-106. Didn't there used to be a TO of TOs or a index of indexes for Tech Orders that showed the TO numbers available for USAF aircraft? Seems like Hill AFB or Wright Pat AFB would have a copy. And if TOs were digitized some years ago there should be a search engine available to the USAF for access - just thinking out loud. Maybe forum member Al Durden has some copies since he used to work at the F-106 Depot at McClellan AFB? I don't know if he still looks in here very often? Pat P.
